Our Go-To Outfits In Lake Tahoe… His + Her Looks

When we were packing up for our time in Lake Tahoe last week, I knew I was overpacking when I zipped up my suitcase. I mean, our plans were basically to just hang out close to the house… some long walks, snow fun, and just trying to release on the need to always be “doing.” So why I thought I needed five pairs of joggers/leggings, an embarrassing number of sweatshirts and sweatshirts, and more than two beanies and scarves is beyond me….. TJ on the other hand got away with a small tote bag, packed with only the necessities…. All that to say, laundry has been very minimal upon reentry….

So, out of my entire large suitcase what did I wear the most? Enter today’s outfit. In some way, shape, or form, I wore pieces from it (if not this exact outfit) 75% of the time we were in Lake Tahoe. All of the pieces are from Everlane. I’ve been wearing Everlane’s clothing for 3 years now, and love the quality, price point, and neutral styles that effortlessly fit into my everyday wardrobe (and make their way into all my capsule wardrobes). Their line is also all sustainably made, so when you shop you’re purchasing items that are made from organic cottons or recycled materials and they’re ethically made in the best favorites (a score of 90 or above). You can also read their “every action counts” commitment here.

Since it was incredibly cold, I wore this down parka coat every day… I could comfortably layer this henley cashmere sweater + pima ribbed turtleneck underneath it and didn’t feel constricted at all. The coat has both zip and button closures, pockets, and a hood which makes it practical as well as stylish. And these white combat boots were comfortable enough to wear for snow play with the girls and with a thick sock kept my feet warm and toasty.

And even though I’ve been wearing their items for years, Tj just recently fell in love with their men’s line as well… with sleek and slim cuts and timeless pieces he’s quickly become a huge fan. His favorites include these jeans, basic tees, this coat, and these joggers + sweatshirts. You can also see their men’s gift shop + women’s gift shop here.

So, yet again, I am reminded that overpacking only leads to more unpacking… and to stick with my original basics that always pull through!
