Not Your 1980’s Overalls: Styled 2 Ways

overealls, itsy bitsy indulgences

Striped orange and white. I’m referring to one of my first, and favorite pair of GAP overalls from the fourth grade.  I wore those beauties (if you can call them that) into the ground… and in all the 80’s ways imaginable… one shoulder hooked, with a sweatshirt tied around the waist, and matching orange and white stripe shirt underneath. As I got older, the trend faded… and the overalls got packed away. With their resurgence, I have been hesitant to embrace the one piece jumpsuit. Possibly due to flashbacks from my first pair. Yet, post pregnancy, I’ve found they are the perfect piece to add to my wardrobe. Tossing them on is simple, since I typically opt for a casual top to layer them over… and who has time to pick out a top and pants at this point?? This pair is everything the 80’s trend wasn’t. Fitted in all the right places (with a nice little bit of stretch) and a nice dark wash. They cover up that post-pregnancy, 15 week belly, nicely, while still feeling chic and put together. I love styling them casually for a lunchtime date with my mom and Harper with a pair of simple loafers and a cardigan. For a slightly dressier version, my favorite heels, a little cashmere, and top coat are just the combination I opt for.

{Outfit 1 || Overalls: Madewell (on-sale) | Tank: Nordstrom (wore this throughout my pregnancy in black and navy too) | Sweater: J. Crew | Shoes: Nikolas Kirkwood | Scarf: Love Quotes | Purse: Chloe, very similar option here (I want it in the camel) | Sunglasses: Valentino}

{Outfit 2 || Overalls: Madewell | Coat: c/o Shein, or here | Top: J. Crew | Shoes: Valentino, cheaper option here | Purse: Prada, cheaper option here}
