I’ve always been a firm believer that we can learn something from every phase of our lives… and I’d have to say I’ve learned quite a bit about myself over the past several months, both good and bad. Something I’ve come to realize that I need to work on is my need to be busy…. doing something all the time (I’ve been told this is how I was at a very young age)… and I guess there really is no better time to work on that need than during a period when you really can’t do much….
And I think that’s something these little ladies have taught me. That they don’t really care what we do, as long as they’re getting time with me (and TJ of course…). It could be watching cooking shows together (Harper is obsessed with cooking and Ina Garten in particular…), baking banana bread (soon to be pumpkin bread…), playing some made up game, running up and down the hallway, or just lounging on the couch having a tickle fight. Childhood is simple, and living life through them is a constant reminder to not over complicate, and over-busy (I know that’s not a word…), life.
Given that life is simpler these days, and we’ve been spending a lot more time at home, we made a few new purchases at the Nordstrom sale that will keep us cozy + comfortable now and into the fall season. I’ve had my eye on these super soft throw blankets and decided that at the price point they were a great option for everyone to have, and stock up on, for cozy time spent at home. Nordstrom has so many great at home lounge brands too, all on sale, from their own Nordstrom line, über soft Barefoot Dreams, to Ugg (always love their slippers). I also picked up this scoop neck sleep tee + theses lounge leggings (I’m always a sucker for anything stretchy + soft).
Now excuse me while I go cozy up with my girls and slow down for the next few days!
