Alright, if you still love leggings and think they have a place in your wardrobe, then this post is for you. I’ve rounded up my 4 go-to pairs of black leggings below. I share why I love them, what they work for, and some material details as well. Then I included a few ways I’ve styled them, if you’re looking for a bit of inspo.
I hope it helps and that you have a wonderful day ahead!

EVERLANE PERFORM LEGGING
So, I’ve had the Everlane Perform leggings for 4 years now, ever since they were initially released. They’re great. If a very basic black legging is what you’re going for I recommend these. They are a performance fabric (versus the buttery soft material of say the lululemon align legging) so they hold up well in high intensity workouts, as well as work for every life, as you can see below. They come in several inseam options, and are a high waisted fit. They run tts.

ALO FLUTTER HEM LEGGINGS
The Alo Flutter Hem Leggings (more sizes here) are another pair that I’ve had for several years (3 to be exact). They are short gal friendly, which is a definite bonus. For these black leggings, I only recommend them for everyday outfits. While I’m sure they could pass for some workouts, I just think the hem would be annoying. That being said, the fabric is thicker (I wouldn’t consider it a performance fabric) and soft (but not buttery soft). I love these because they really just elevate an everyday outfit where you want to wear leggings, but also make it look a bit more pulled together.

(Leggings, Ribbed Top, Vest)
(Tank, Bag, Oversized White Button Down (here is a non-linen option I love))
VUORI DAILY LEGGINGS
These are the newest leggings I’ve added to my “Black Legging Collection” and they’re amazing (like most Vuori items). I’m a fan of them for several reasons. First, the material is definitely meant to be performance, but they’re also buttery soft… so it’s the best of both worlds. Second, the design really elevates them over a basic black leggings. They have a tie waistband, and the hem is cuffed, so they definitely aren’t your run of the mill black leggings. They come in 3 different inseam options, so whether your short or tall, you can find the right one (I wear the “regular” and they fit perfectly for me). I’ve worn these black leggings on runs and dressed them appropriately for everyday life as well.

BEYOND YOGA STIRRUP LEGGINGS
These always get mixed reviews. Yes, very 80’s-esque and remind me of my elementary school days (I believe I had a hot pink pair), but trust me, they’re chic and Beyond Yoga leggings embody the saying “buttery soft…” so if that’s your thing, these are for you. I don’t recommend them for any high intensity workout, but they’re great for walks, yoga, traveling, lounging, etc. I wore them with regular frequency to the soccer field last fall. If the stirrup just isn’t your thing, then their basic black spacedye leggings are also great for the aforementioned activities.
