So remember how I mentioned yesterday that by saying we’re “stauts quo” in the sleep department with the girls that it would come back to bite me?? It did… with a couple middle of the night wake up calls that hadn’t happened in a long time…
All of that aside, I actually had this post scheduled for last Earth Day… and then I have no clue why it didn’t come into fruition. Over the past year and a half or so, I’ve been trying to be much more mindful of purchasing items that are considered sustainable, and cutting down on our family’s personal use of waste (using micro-cloths to clean counters versus paper towels, etc…). Admittedly we can always do better, but today I’m sharing several of my favorite sustainably made clothing, beauty, and household items that I (we) use regularly.
I found this definition of sustainability which I think explains the concept really well:
“Sustainable products are those products that provide environmental, social, and economic benefits while protecting public health and environment over their whole life cycle, from the extraction of raw materials until the final disposal.”
And while I don’t live anywhere near a pure sustainable lifestyle, I have found some products that I really love that abide by this sustainable goal and standard. If you’re looking to make and swaps/changes I can’t recommend these products more!

EVERLANE: Everlane is the maker of my go-to air tee, air cami tank, raglan tee, and this fitted cotton tank… they also make the track joggers I own in two colors and wear at least several times a week. The items are excellent quality, fairly priced, and have lasted me several seasons.

MADEWELL TRAINER SNEAKERS: Madewell’s entire MWL (make weekend’s longer) line is sustainably made… and so are many other items on their site (have to read the description of fabrics), but these sneakers I purchased back in October are part of that collection and they’re been my most worn sneaker this year. On trend, comfortable, and under $100… they’re incredibly well made as well and will easily last me into next season, if not much longer.
NECESSAIRÉ SKINCARE: Necessairé skin care, which I’ve been using for well over a year is sustainably made, and is also non-toxic. VITAMIN A SWIM: I discovered Vitamin A swim last year and have been a huge fan ever since. Their suits fit so well, are excellent quality, and timeless in their style and material. The suits I purchased last year and still in great condition… and they make my go-to oversized linen button down coverup. I also love their Sienna top… the ribbed material the so good.

VON HOLZHAUSEN: This is a new to me brand this year, but they make the most beautiful everyday bags. I have both the Large Bucket Backpack and the Large Shopper Tote and the material feels just like real leather. AGOLDE: AGOLDE makes all my favorite denim + a few ribbed tanks… and they’re sustainably made… so well made, I’ve had the Parker Denim Shorts for about 4 years now, and the Jamie Jeans for 2 years.
