We’re heading out on Spring Break early tomorrow morning, to the beautiful beaches of Maui, and we can’t wait. Hawaii is our happy place, and with all the rain and gloom California has been receiving, to say we’re excited would be an understatement. Being from Southern California, saying you’re heading out of town for some sunshine and warmth isn’t really a statement you hear… since warmth and sunshine are typically a frequent weather forecast…. but there’s always a first time for everything, and that’s been the saying around our house for the past couple of weeks….
But before I sign off, I wanted to share some of my go-to shoes, that aren’t sneakers, for the spring and summer season. I love sneakers, and if I’m not wearing sandals, they’re what I reach for 90% of the time… but today I’m putting my sneakers aside and sharing the sandals, flats, and mules I’ll be reaching for this spring and summer.
And with that, I hope everyone has a great weekend, week, and weekend… see you in 10 days!
_____
TKEES BARELY THERE SANDALS
One of my favorite outfit combos has to be a pair of jeans, lightweight sweater, and a good pair of sandals… and I love the TKEES barely there sandals because they give an elongating effect, and just look so chic (not to mention they’re incredibly comfortable as well). I bought this black pair for our trip and they’re equally as chic…
ESPADRILLE SHOES
So if you’re wanting something in between a sneaker and a ballet flat, then these are perfect (well, that’s what drew me to them, haha). I love that they can be dressed up, or down, and are so chic. I wore the white TB pair during our entire trip to Malibu… it was raining, so heels for dinner were out of the question, and these were great. I will say that the Sam Edelman pair is more comfortable than the TB pair… overall more padding. I actually ordered them in the ivory as well, but I couldn’t get the right size in them, as my regular size was too tight and a 1/2 size up was too big. All that to say, they are both comfortable and I’ll be reaching for them all spring and summer season… wear them with shorts, dresses, jeans, etc…
BEEK BY TWO BIRDS
The Beek by Two Bird Sugarbird sandals are one of my all time favorites- they have a molded footbed and are so comfortable for all day wear- I’ve taken them on many adventures and my feet have always been happy. I’m also loving this new Bluebird two toned style– so chic. Both of these sandals will be on heavy rotation this spring and summer season since they look great with shorts, dresses, and jeans!

FLATS
While I don’t wear flats that often, sometimes the outfit, or occasion, calls for them and when it does, I reach for one of these pairs. The first is a ballet flat from J. Crew– love the square toe and the black color, looks super chic… and the second is this day glove pair from Everlane. The latter I’ve had for 3ish years now and love how soft the leather is and how they mold to your feet over time (I did try the Everlane ballet flat and they hit me in the wrong spot so I had to send them back…). I do want to note that both pairs fit tts for me, but they did take a bit to break them in. Some reviews say comfortable on first wear, so I do think it depends on a lot of factors for each specific person.
NISOLO HUARACHE SANDALS
These Nisolo sandals are new to me this season, but I know they will be on heavy rotation all spring and summer- I feel as if they’re a great cross between a sandal and a shoe… being closed toed makes them a bit easier to wear if the temps don’t call for open toes. I love that they’re ethically and sustainably made as well. I ordered my regular size, and they mold to your foot over time.

JENNI KAYNE MULE
And, if you aren’t looking for a sandal, espadrille, or a flat… how about a mule (hahah)?? I love this ivory pair from Jenni Kayne, the Oiled Mule– I bought them in the fall, but they’re great for the spring season as well. They do feel a bit stiff on top at first, but with wear soften up.
