When I look around my closet, mainly where I have my shoes, there is a very clear distinction drawn. Those that represent a past life, one I lived 8+ years ago… and those that represent my here and now. The shoes of the past have 3+ inch heels, which, in all honesty, if I tried to wear today I would need some practice (hard to believe I used to spend hours walking around and dancing in them….). And the shoes of my current life are no more than 2 heels, mainly flat, and are significantly more comfortable than those of my past.
And just because my current shoes aren’t as “fun” (as the girls like to point out… they’re always playing with them), they are certainly practical and can transform any of my neutral outfits into something casual, dressy (yes, even my flats can dress things up), or somewhere in between.
So today I’ve rounded up some of my go-to fall shoes, that aren’t sneakers (because honestly, I’d wear sneakers everyday given the chance… love them with dresses, skirts, jeans, shorts, joggers, leggings…. you name it… well, maybe not a swimsuit…. but you get the picture)…. and I’ve also included a few pairs that I’ve “hearted” in wishlists….
And with that, I hope everyone has been having a good week and has a nice weekend ahead!

SILVER MARY JANES
I bought these silver Mary Jane flats last week and love them… everything from the color to the square toe… I think they’re so fun for fall and they instantly elevate any outfit. I did go up a 1/2 size in these, as my regular size wasn’t as comfortable… and they do take 1-2 wears to break them in, but after that, they’re good to go. They’re temporarily 25-30% off during the Madewell sale.

BIRDIE’S MULES + LOAFERS
I’ve been such a huge fan of Birdie’s for several years… I love their leather loafers (seen below) and these mules are equally as comfortable. I appreciate how versatile their shoes are, and how they can easily be dressed up or down. I found both pairs to run true to size.
KITTEN HEEL BOOTIES
Booties are hard for me… I usually can never get my foot out of them and I end up needing to call TJ in to help me pull them off of my feet. These solve the problem since they have a back/heel zip closure. I also love that they’re a kitten heel height, so very comfortable for all day wear. I went with my regular size on these and they’re temporarily 25-30% off during the Madewell sale.
(Jeans (same style, similar wash), Sweater)
DANCERINA BALLET FLATS
Alright, so these Mary Jane ballerina flats are made of the softest leather a supremely comfortable. I love how versatile they are… great for a casual office setting, or as an easy way to elevate jeans. They come in so many beautiful colors as well… and I found them to run true to size.
(Jeans, Tank, Shirt Jacket)
YALE CHELSEA BOOTS
I purchased these booties back in 2021 and they are so comfortable and chic… I’m particularly fond of the pointed toe and how they elongated the leg. I prefer to wear them with straight leg jeans, but they are also great with longer dresses as well. I went up a 1/2 size in these (at least when I purchased them).
MINI UGGS
I feel as if I don’t need to say much about Uggs… they top the charts in comfort… keep you warm… and when styled correctly, can be really chic. Definitely more of an “off duty” shoe. I have these in the mini (seen above) as well as the ultra mini style as well.
UGG TAZZ
The Tazz Ugg mule is similar to the above… and love how you can easily pair them with a wide legged jean, leggings, or joggers for a comfortable fall outfit.
JENNI KAYNE SHEARLING CLOG
I purchased these Jenni Kayne shearling clogs last Black Friday and wore them so much last winter… I can’t wait to wear them again. They’re so comfortable, and such an easy way to really elevate an outfit. You can wear them with jeans and leggings… and I’ve been known to stand for quite a while in them.
JENNI KAYNE SHEARLING MULE
And lastly, another pair of Jenni Kayne Shearling Mules I’m still loving… I bought these back in 2020 and still reach for them season after season… especially in the winter months. They run tts and are very comfortable.
