Well, it’s niiiiice + chilly here today with a high of 95 degrees. Yes, you read that correctly. It’s the end of October + we’re having hotter temps now than we did during the actual summer months. So I do the only logical thing when this happens year after year (because, in all reality, this happens every. single. year.)… I research cold weather destinations that I would like to visit….
It’s actually how we came to love Park City. It was a particularly hot fall day, I was over it, and started writing a blog post on my bucket list cold weather destinations. As I started doing more and more research, I decided to make the destination from the bucket list to a real life experience. So today I bring you my top four bucket list cold weather destinations for this season…
Banff + Lake Louise Alberta Canada: We were so close to booking this trip last season, for my birthday, but decided that with the house renovation + being pregnant, we would just hold off. Oh, and the temps were in the negatives… and I don’t think these native southern Californians were really prepared for that…. Kidding aside, I do truly want to visit this beautiful + magical place….
Jackson Hole Wyoming: I’d love to visit the national parks (Yellowstone to be exact), the hot springs, and the infamous Jackson Town Square with the antlers….
Vail: This destination has been on my list for the past couple of years… hiking Booth Falls Trail looks absolutely beautiful.
Lake Tahoe: Sort of embarrassed to admit that I’ve never been here… considering it’s in my home state… but it looks so beautiful in the fall + winter seasons. Taking the girls on a sleigh ride, or tubing, and then relaxing by the fire pit with s’mores at night sounds absolutely perfect!
For our trip to Park City last year, and this year, I snagged these Sorel Kinetic Cairbou Ankle Boots…. they’re incredibly warm, comfortable, and I was able to wear them on a snowy hike, as well as just around town (and for those happy hour s’mores). When we head back in November, for our annual pre-Thanksgiving trip, they’ll be accompanying me as well. Shoes.com has such a great selection of Sorel shoes, perfect if you live in cold weather areas, or will be visiting one this upcoming season. A few other favorites include this kinetic lace up sneaker (great everyday option) + these cut-out ankle booties (so cute with jeans and a chunky knit).
Would love to add to my bucket list of cold weather destinations… leave me your favorite below!
