Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

As I wrap up Monday, all I can think about is sinking into the couch and getting lost in my new book… I’m so intrigued by the characters, and I’m basically hooked at this point (although, that’s not hard with Lisa Jewell novels…). I’ve said it before, but reading has to be one of my favorite ways to unwind at the end of the day… and as I think back to my childhood, I know that’s something I got from my mom. After we would go to bed at night, she’d pick up a book, and get lost too. Reading, and my love of running, are two loves that I attribute to my mom….

It’s funny how when I was growing up I didn’t realize how much my mom did for our family, because I simply took it for granted: school lunches, making sure we had meals planned out, celebrations, helping with homework, school pickup/drop off, being there to wipe my tears, listen to my stories, and laugh with me…. and while I began to understand the magnitude of all she did for us when I got into college, it wasn’t until I became a mom that I realized how much my mom did that often went unnoticed….

And while this post is a Mother’s Day gift guide, I also realize that Mother’s Day isn’t always an easy holiday for everyone… for those who can’t become moms, for those who have lost their own mom, and for those who never had a the relationship with their mom that they wanted… I imagine that this can be a difficult holiday, filled with a mixture of emotions.

Yet, if you do have a mom, or a mom figure… aunt, grandma, sister, or someone else, in your life… and you’re looking for a gift to make the day a little more special, I rounded up some items that I think would be great options. I divided this post into two categories. One, as gift inspo in case someone is asking what you might want for this season, and you need some ideas. For that category I compiled some of my favorite investment items. Second, gifts under $150… mainly composed of items I’ve either gifted, or own and think would make excellent options. I hope it’s helpful.

And with that, I hope you all have a great day!
________

Janessa Leone Straw Hat: I love the fit and style of Janessa Leone hats, but they are an investment. TJ purchased one for me, for Mother’s Day, several years ago and it’s still a favorite to this day.

Diamond Hoop Earrings: These are a beautiful, everyday option… they’re subtle, but so beautiful. They were a gift to me this Christmas from my parents and I wear them several times a week…

Celine Sunglasses: Another gift from Mother’s Day past… these brown Celine sunglasses. Love their neutral color and oversized frame. Very well made, and a neutral accessory to is sure to compliment any outfit.

Shopper Tote Bag: I’ve shared this bag here so many times, but it really is a beautiful, sustainably made, everyday option. I have the large size and can easily fit everyday essentials inside of it. It’s also incredibly easy to clean… Camille spilled chocolate milk down the front of it last year and it wiped right off! Use code SHANNON10 for 10% off.

Sugarbird Sandals: These are an incredibly comfortable, everyday, spring and summer sandal that goes with everything. I’ve worn them with jeans, dresses, swim outfits… they’re buttery soft and feel as if I’m walking on clouds.

Pearl Beaded Choker: This is a beautiful, unexpected, statement necklace that pairs nicely with other dainty necklaces you might already own. I’ve had it for a couple of weeks and love mixing it in with super casual outfits to elevate them a bit (think sweatshirts and basic tees).

Diamond Bar Earrings: If you aren’t a fan of hoop earrings for your everyday style, I can’t recommend these diamond bar earrings more. I wear them in my second ear piercing, and they’re beautifully understated and pair well with so many simple earrings I already own.

Cashmere Cocoon Cardigan: I’ve chatted about this cashmere cardigan before, but it’s definitely an investment that I truly think 99% of people would be so happy with. I purchased mine back in September 2020 and wear it all the time. It’s lightweight, but still so warm… and incredibly soft. I feel as if this oatmeal color is so versatile and goes with so many basic pieces I have in my closet. I’ve easily been able to dress it up and down as well… You can get 15% off with code Natalie15 (not my code).

Small Straw Bag: When I purchased this spring/summer bag I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about it… but when it’s appropriate I choose to bring it along all the time. It’s not an everyday bag by any means, but for going out it’s perfect. The shape is so cute and it actually holds a considerable amount… sunglasses, a small pouch that holds a small flap wallet, chapstick, hand sanitizer, and my phone.

Mini Bezel Diamond Necklace: If you’re looking for something dainty and subtle, yet beautiful, this bezel diamond necklace is gorgeous and layers so nicely with other delicate necklaces. I’ve become a big fan of Dana Rebecca Fine Jewelry items over the past several months… well made, conflict free diamonds, and I can’t recommend this piece more. I also wear this diamond disc necklace and it’s a stunner as well.

Linen Cover-Up: This is a cover-up that works effortlessly for anyone. I’ve had the white for two summers, going on my third… you can wear it fully buttoned, front knotted, or front tucked into denim shorts. It’s easy to throw on and go for a beach day or pool hangs at home, or a perfect item to pack if you, or your mom, is traveling anywhere this summer season. I purchased it for my mom last year and she loves it! Experiential option: a day together at the beach, lake, or river, lunch included!

The Always Pan: For a mom who loves to cook this is a great gift idea (currently on special as well). We use ours several times a week and have found it to be so useful (steams veggies, pancakes, ground turkey, etc…). My mom has one as well or else this would be her gift this year! Lots of great color options too.

Gold Beaded Necklace: Love this necklace so much… I’ve had it for several years and gifted it to both my mom and sister, for various occasions, and they love it as well. You can get 10% off with code SHANNON.

Ivory Throw Blanket: If you’re looking for something cozy to gift, we love this lightweight ivory throw blanket (lots of great colors). This Barefoot Dreams blanket is also a wonderful option as well.

Coravin Wine Preservation System: I include this on so many gift guides, but it really makes a great gift for anyone who loves wine. It allows you to enjoy a glass of wine without removing the cork, which allows you to preserve the wine. Also great if you want to do a little wine tasting without committing to opening a bottle.

Vinglacé Wine Chiller: We love using this when we’re outside and don’t want to have to go back inside for a second glass…. you pop the bottle into the chiller and it keeps the champagne, or wine, cold for hours (it’s vacuum insulated)… and you can pour directly from the chiller.

Gardening Tool Kit + Bench: I saw this little gardening kit and knew it would be such a cute gift for anyone who loves to garden. It comes with gardening tools, and you can sit on the portable carrier… so much better than having to squat or be on your knees the entire time!

Nana Necklace: If you’re looking for something personalized, this letter necklace is such a beautiful option.

Pajama Set + Open Toe Slippers: For the homebody, these are great lounge and sleep items for the summer months…. I have these slippers in an ivory color and the open toe feature makes them so comfortable, and practical, during the summer months.

Crochet Tote Bag: This is a great spring and summer bag, that works for everyday use! It can be held in the hand, or comfortably worn on the shoulder as well.

Seagrass Pitcher + Glasses: For anyone who loves to entertain, these seagrass glasses and pitcher make a beautiful gift, especially for summer entertaining.

Necessaire Lotion, Exfoliator, Body Wash: And for a beauty lover, I can’t recommend the Necessaire trio more. It’s luxurious and leaves the skin feeling so soft and moisturized. Eucalyptus is my favorite scent.
