Mixing + Matching || The Denim Skirt 2 Ways

While I wrote in yesterday’s post that I was proud of myself for having most of my packing done… what I failed to recognize, in that moment of self accolading, was that I had a to-do list a mile long…. Yet, I spent yesterday ignoring it. I chose, instead, to spend some girl time with my mom and sister. Something we hadn’t done in months… with differing schedules, and my sister teaching full time, it finally worked that we could all get together, no schedules, and just hang… shop a little, laugh a lot, and enjoy a delicious, uninterrupted, lunch together. Time with my mom and sister is always good for the soul…. Needless to say, it’s now 9:45pm on Monday evening, and I’m just now finishing this post… and still have that to-do list for the next few days. So, tomorrow will be a “no-makeup-stay-in-my-workout-clothes-all-day-and-get-shiz-done” kinda day.

Anyways… you know I’m all about having a wardrobe that easily allows other “trendier” items to fit in seamlessly, and this little denim skirt is no exception. Using pieces I already own in my closet (here + here) I was able to create two different looks for spring with one of the “back from the 90’s” trends… the denim skirt (although, I did this post + this post before little miss entered… hence, the heels…). Dress it down with a comfy sweatshirt + kicks… and make it brunch, or lunch, appropriate with a pair of cute slides + a cardigan…. or, even dressier for a night out with these pink beauties, a white blouse, and some gold accessories.

Annnd, if you’re looking to add this trend to your closet, all the denim skirts here (varying lengths and colors) are super cute, and I also love this raw edge skirt, button front skirt, and this distressed option. Oh, and if you’re little lady wants in on the action too, Harper’s skirt is seriously so adorable… I think she’s kind of feeling this whole 90’s trend… paired it with a graphic tee and all….
