“Live on coffee and flowers try not to wonder what the weather will be.” – the national
Yes, you are right, this quote has nothing to do with this post, but for some odd reason it resonated with me when I saw it this week. And while I believe it may only be possible in utopia, I can’t help but take away from the simplicity of it. Some truth. I wake up, and go to bed, everyday looking at that silly little iPhone app that unrealiably predicts the weather. Why? Because I’m always thinking two steps ahead. Living in the moment has always been something I have challenged myself to do. And, if I lived my life in the small moments that present themselves daily, I would likely appreciate that morning iced coffee more and not simply look at it as my second jolt of the day, post pre-6am workout jolt. Or, maybe that’s why I love the weekends so much. There is no mild obsession with that little weather app, fresh blooms are always picked up on Friday afternoons, and iced coffees are the norm. Cheers to the weekend friends!
