“Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated…” Confucius
I’ve always heard this saying, and nine times out of ten I would have to say that I fall prey to the “making it more complicated.” I read into things, I worry when there doesn’t need to be worry, and I rarely take things at face value (which I guess only lends itself to the whole reading into things part…). I like to have plans on the weekend, and most often I wake up on a Saturday with a list of things to do (happy weekend, right??).
This past Saturday was a gorgeous day… TJ and I were heading to meet Allison and her boo for a hike in Laguna Canyon, and our new favorite song came on the radio (Bruno Mars… “Marry You”… “Is it the look in your eyes? Or is it this dancing juice? Who care baby, I think I wanna marry you…”). We rolled back the sun roof, turned the music up (so irresponsible…), and shot our arms through the sun roof, and sang at the top of our lungs… such a simple moment in an otherwise busy day…. that I only surely made busier with my lists….
So, when it came time for dressing for the night out, it boiled down to simplicity (I guess that’s been a theme here lately). No need to complicate things. A simple lace dress, a perfectly simple color combo, and simple nude pumps were the perfect ensemble. Not much thought needed to put it together, and no need to complicate it with overbearing accessories. When taken at face value, it’s effortless and simple all rolled into one…
