Hosting This Holiday Season || A Simple, Neutral, Tablescape

Every year, for the past 10 years, we’ve hosted Christmas Eve at our house (well, I didn’t host in 2015 since Harper was due any day at that point…)… we started right after we got married in our little 1,000 square foot condo, and carried the tradition into our new home. It’s something I look forward to every year. I typically pick up pot-pies from a local spot, we have a little bubbly, and read Christmas books to the girls… put out the reindeer food and cookies for Santa… and then, after the girls go down, we set out the gifts from Santa. It’s a wonderful time and I can’t believe it’s a mere 16 weeks away….

I enjoy hosting and the decorating that comes with it, so I typically like to put together a festive table setting. This year I wanted to keep things neutral, yet still very Christmas-y, so I opted for a cedar garland center piece and tapered candles as the main centerpiece… something simple, yet classic. Then I looked to Walmart for the decor and place setting pieces. They have such a great selection of items to help you get your home ready for guests this holiday season… whether you’re hosting an evening with friends, or having family stay over for the holidays, they have everything you need. The items are classic, timeless, and sure to make your home feel warm and welcoming to any guests this season.

I was immediately drawn to this gold rimmed stoneware dinner set, as well as these rectangular champagne flutes… both modern, beautiful, and chic (the champagne flutes would make a wonderful gift for any champagne lover…)… and I’ve had this serving board since last June and love it’s versatility. It works perfectly as a large charcuterie board for serving appetizers… and nicely compliments this large acacia salad bowl to achieve the neutral and natural look I was going for. And of course, if you’re in need of a LBD, this Free Assembly sweater dress is super chic and the softest material. I shared a quick video of all the details below….

Now I just need to figure out if it’s going to be rainy and dreary outside, or warm and sunny out to decide if I’ll need to move this table setting inside or if it’ll be an outdoor Christmas this season!
