As I’ve shared before in my other home posts, when TJ + I envisioned the interior of our home, we wanted it to be bright, airy, and feel as if you were truly in California. We took much of our inspiration from hotels we had stayed at in Santa Barbara, San Diego, + Palm Springs…. and sought to create a space that we felt comfortable, relaxed, and simply put, at home. Having that goal in mind, we opted for white walls, organic + airy fabrics, and small pops of color here and there. We chose to keep the hardwood…. sanded it down + re-stained it…. installed all new windows + window coverings (the original blinds were filled with smoke), tiled over the brick fireplace, tore out the cabinets, and installed all new baseboards. What you see if the finished product…. a space that we happily call home and spend countless hours relaxing and enjoying one another’s company. It’s funny, when you’re in the middle of a renovation it’s always hard to see the end (we’re back at it completing our master bedroom/bathroom…. which won’t be completed until after the baby arrives)…. but when it all comes together it makes the months of stress + disagreements here and there all worth it! You can see the kitchen + entryway here.
