Memorial Day weekend always gets me excited…. as the unofficial start of the summer season it reminds me of everything that’s on the horizon for the summer months…. longer evenings, beach days, pool days, a uniform of cut-offs, tanks, and sandals… rosé, sunset happy hours…. birthday celebrations…. family reunions…. and extended weekends away. And no better way to welcome it all than with a festive celebratory weekend (and thanking those who served, and continue to serve our country)….

We’ve done various things on this holiday over the years, but my favorites have always involved family, bbq-ing, and laying low… which is exactly what it will look like for us this coming weekend. While we have several plans up in the air, a get together with family is set in stone…. and, with any get together, comes dressing for the celebration. We keep things on the casual side, so today I’ve rounded up four different looks for you, in case you’re looking for some last minute Memorial Day outfit ideas….

I mixed and matched all my favorite pieces, that I already owned in my closet to create these looks, starting with the one featured in the photos. These paperbag stripe shorts (last featured here) are super festive, without being over the top…. and a this white sweater is a great option to keep warm in the evening…..

You can pair this one shoulder, red eyelet top with a pair of distressed denim shorts (I prefer to wear it fully tucked in), white slides (so many cute options), and a white denim jacket if the weather cools in the evening….

Or, top this stripe (or chambray) jumpsuit (with the cutest button front details) with white slides…. and when the temps cool in the evening, toss on this slouchy pullover (my personal favorite….).

If you prefer jeans, I love this pair with an adorable blue + white pinstripe cami, white slides (again), and a white denim jacket or pullover for the evening.
