Holiday Style || A Dressier Thanksgiving Gathering

So we’ve been over here managing a pint size threenager the past few days… and boy, she mirrors a teenager perfectly. If this is any indication of what TJ + I have to look forward to in ten years, heaven help us. All that to say, I’m all about comfort these days… and even if the occasion is dressy, if my pre-teenager is in tow, it still has to be comfortable. Even on a holiday….

And even if you don’t have a mini one to chase after, a sweater dress is a perfect Thanksgiving option if your family has a “dressier” holiday fête. With all the eating + imbibing that comes with the day, anything tight around the waistline just isn’t acceptable in my book… a dress that hangs perfectly, gives you a little breathing room in the belly, and is so comfortable you’ll forget you’re technically “dressed,” up is just what we need. I’d had my eye on this ribbed option since I saw it a few weeks ago, and when I put it on, it didn’t disappoint… oh so soft, and hangs just right. You can easily layer this with a beautiful suede or leather jacket, wear it with sneakers on another occasion… or slip on a cozy pair of slippers at the end of the night. To be sure, this is a dress you can easily wear well past your turkey dinner too…. so it’s versatile, comfortable, + stylish….

A few other sweater dress favorites for the holiday season include this cashmere sweater dress, ribbed v-neck dress (gorgeous in the mauve), this crewneck dress, + this shift style sweater dress. Either way you go, you’ll look great, and still maintain a perfect level of comfort.
