Holiday Style || 3 Thanksgiving Looks… Comfortable, Casual, + Dressy

So, I’m contemplating a hair chop. I think I’m ready for a change… and after perusing Pinterest for inspo, I think I’ve found a style that I like. I have an appointment scheduled for a week from today, so I’m going to give myself another week to mull it over. I just might have a fresh chop for the Thanksgiving holiday…

And speaking of Thanksgiving, I’ve found that people tend to fall into one of three categories when they’re dressing for the holiday. Their family is either a little more formal, a combo with a casual look, or all about comfort. Over the years I think we’ve fallen more into the comfort category…. but today I’m teaming up with Nordstrom + sharing looks for all three (I love their young contemporary + trend departments). All options allow for ultimate comfort… always my MO… and style. Nothing over the top, simple + pulled together….

DRESSY: If your family tends to fall into the dressy category, I love this simple, ribbed, black sweater dress. It’s super comfortable + allows for maximum indulging without a bulge (if you catch my drift). The snakeskin booties add a little something extra, but the lower heel makes them comfortable enough for all day wear. Layering the look with some simple gold jewelry pulls it all together. If it’s extra cold where you are, simply layer the dress with the cozy teddy coat. Obsessed with the color of that one.

CASUAL: I always reach for black jeans when the attire calls for something between dressy + comfy… and these jeans are super comfortable, with great stretch (love the distressing at the bottom). Pairing them with a beautiful cream sweater (gorgeous sleeves), gold jewelry, and the snakeskin booties makes the outfit a perfect hybrid. Again, simply layer with a cozy teddy coat if you need that extra layer for warmth (it’ll be in the high 60’s/low 70’s for us….)

COMFY: My favorite (surprise surprise). I found this ribbed pants + pullover set and knew it would be the perfect combo for our Thanksgiving celebration… which involves eating + then watching “Christmas Vacation” with a glass of vino (and somehow always finding something new to laugh about… even though we’ve watched the move year after year). To pull it all together I paired it with my go-to mules + oversized ribbed scarf. It’s an easy combination + one that will keep me extra comfortable for a day spent with family… and I’ll simply swap out the mules for these slippers at the end of the day.

Annnd, we like to move a little slowly the day after + then head out to shop some of the Black Friday sales… something I’ve been doing with my mom, sister, + grandma for as long as I can remember. This year, Nordstrom has provided a preview of their on-line cyber week sales… and they’ll be adding additional items on Black Friday. Yet, if you plan on shopping the sales, it’s always nice to have a sneak peek, especially at Nordstrom.

So…. which look are you for Thanksgiving? Dressy, Casual, or Comfy??
