We headed out to take our family photos a few weeks ago and boy was Camille in a mood. No nap + didn’t want to eat a snack, so I knew it was a recipe for disaster… and in between some cute shots there were the not so cute shots…
Which I felt were very representative of 2020 in general. We’ve had our not so cute moments over the past several months (ok, more than I probably care to admit), but at the same time, we’ve had some wonderful moments… and for all the ups and downs I am thankful. The downs make me appreciate the highs, and all the regular, in between moments, make me appreciate the calmness of life…
If there is anything 2020 has taught me (and it’s taught me a lot) it’s that everything I need is right within the four walls of my own home (and my parent’s home). I’m grateful for the time at home, time we wouldn’t have otherwise had, and while I don’t know I don’t know what the next several months holds for any of us, I do know that I have them, they have me, and we will get through all of this together.
I know that Thanksgiving 2020 is different for all of us… less family time, less traditions, less traveling… but I truly hope that you’re able to have a special Thanksgiving despite the current circumstances that surround us all.
In the wise words of Brené Brown:
“I don’t have to chase extraordinary moments to find happiness– it’s right in front of me if I’m paying attention and practicing gratitude.”
Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for being here!
