Happy Halloween! I found myself scrambling around Wednesday evening looking for carving pumpkins and ANYTHING festive for the holiday. I am typically the type of person who likes to decorate for these Fall holidays, but I found the month of October flew by and before I knew it Halloween was upon us.

I can vividly remember the mounting excitement, as a child, as the “day” I would get to wear that coveted costume approached… AND who can forget the Halloween parades at school? I stumbled across a few Halloween pictures of Allison and me the other day and my favorite had to be the Pink Power Ranger (Allison)/Minnie Mouse (me) duo. Oh, the memories….

But, driving to work on Wednesday I had that itch to break up the monotony of the work week, and maybe slight nostalgia for those kiddo days of Halloween. So, as I sat at a local coffee shop, working, I decided it was time to do something about it. It was time to have a mid-week Halloween celebration, grown-up style. I picked up a couple of carving pumpkins, some apples, a few Halloween decorations (better late than never, right?), and a bottle of wine (duh) for a Fall date night. A few carved pumpkins, skinny baked apples, and small glass of wine later I’d say it was a success. Anyway, I guess sometimes we never get too old to become giddy inside again. And as we approach Thanksgiving and Christmas I fully intend on indulging that child-like giddiness inside of me!
