Five On Friday || An Easy Conversation Starter

A few weeks ago, when we were having a family get together, my sister was talking about a “Friday Five” that she started in her classroom (she’s a third grade teacher…). As we talked about it more, the conversation around it developed, and after about thirty minutes everyone had gone around and answered the five simple questions. It was such an easy conversation starter… and one that promoted self reflection, positivity, future thinking, and change…

Something I’ve always been a big proponent on is conversation… and that conversation leads to connection. When we can open up to one another, we share things about ourselves with those we trust, and further deepen the connection. That’s why TJ + I have a reoccurring “date night in” every Friday night. I’ve shared about it here more times than I can remember, but we put away our phones, turn on some music, and decompress from the week through conversation…. we both always end the evening feeling more connected than we entered into the night…..

We’ve been incorporating these five simple questions lately and it’s lent itself to really meaningful conversation. So, as we head into the weekend ahead, I wanted to share a simple graphic in case you’re looking for an easy conversation starter in your home. I think it’s a great option for couples, families (especially those with elementary school and above children), and even friends.

I think you are able to print out this graphic, so if you’re feeling the concept, please feel free to save the image and use it in your homes! Hope you all have a great weekend ahead!
