Happy Friday friends! We made it through the first full week of the year… which, in my opinion, is typically one of the hardest to get through. The “holiday hangover” was real over here, so we’re happily welcoming Friday. We’ll be celebrating little miss 4th birthday this weekend with a small celebration + then TJ + I have a quick little date night planned for afterwards…..
I feel as if I typically spend a lot of time thinking about my favorite products over the past year, but for 2019 it seemed almost like a no brainer…. I could easily recall those items that I reached for time and time again… and those that I will continue to use in 2020.
I hoe you all have a wonderful weekend ahead!
Birdies Flats: I’ve shared these several times before, but I got my first pair in September and was sold. They have a seven layer sole, so it’s a cushioned fit all day long. I have them in the leopard print a+ latte leather colors… both are neutral + look great with almost any outfit. I love that they’re a stylish + comfortable flat that’s perfect for everyday life.
Gorjana Lariat Necklace: When I initially bought this piece back in August I wasn’t sure I’d like it… mainly because it wasn’t as dainty as most of my jewelry pieces. It ended up becoming one of my everyday go-to options to layer with the other pieces I already owned.
All Saints Leather Jacket: One of the pieces I wanted to invest in this past fall was a new leather jacket. The last one I purchased was from 10 years ago, and while it’s still in great condition, and a timeless style, I wanted something slightly more updated. I ended up deciding on this All Saints leather jacket… the leather is super soft and the quality is excellent. I love that it will be the one I reach for over the next 10 years. A note about sizing- it runs incredibly small, I went up two sizes and could have gone up one more if I was planning on layering thick pieces underneath.
A Golde Jamie Jeans: I’d had my eye on these since the beginning of the year… yet since I was pregnant last January I held off. When fall rolled around again, I decided it would be a good time to make the purchase. I am so happy that I did. These fit incredibly well and the distressing it perfect. I am short, so I did cut the hem of these to get the frayed look at the hem.
Lou + Grey Signature Plush Set: I’ve actually been wearing the pants for a couple of years now, but this year purchased the entire black set. I literally wear this (either the pullover or pants) once a week. So soft + the matching pieces elevates everyday off duty style. They do run on the looser side, so size down if you want them more fitted, or if you’re between sizes.
Anine Bing Graphic Tee: I’ve always loved a good graphic tee, but towards the beginning of last year felt as if I had too many and didn’t need to purchase anymore. After the spring + summer I saw this tee and liked that it was subtly graphic. Basic black + white which could easily blend with other items in my closet. I literally wear this one to two times a week. I sized up one for an oversized fit… it’s also a thicker tee material, not flimsy like others.
Velvet Beaded Headbands: I loved the look of the Lele Sadoughi headbands but didn’t want to spend the money for a trend that might be extinct in a year or two. So I took to amazon and found these amazing embellished headbands. They are comfortable (don’t give me a headache) and really great quality. I’ve had them since July and find myself reaching for them to dress up basic outfits or to make dirty hair look semi-appropriate.
Free People Easy Street Tunic: Purchased back in April, right after I had Camille, this has become one of the pullovers I reach for on the regular. The oversized fit is what draws me to it… and I love the ribbed material. It easily dresses down or up and I ended up buying it in three colors (at various times, typically on sale!). I recommend your regular size.
lululemon Align Leggings: Literally, soft as butter. Promise. The most comfortable leggings I own… and they look good on everyone. My mom + sister both got a pair for Christmas after feeling how soft mine were. I also love that they have an interior pocket for keys when you’re working out.
J. Crew Coatigan: I dedicated an entire post to this one here… so obviously it’s a favorite. It literally goes with everything and the material is so well made. It’s not your typical cardigan, so it’s not super soft. It’s more structured in fit so it easily can transition you from off duty to the workplace. It’s a piece that I have gotten my cost per wear from over the last several month.
Solid + Stripe White Two Piece: I bought this for our trip to Hawaii this summer, which was 3ish months after having Camille. When I was looking for suits I wanted something that I felt very confident and comfortable in and this suit fit the bill perfectly. It’s high waisted, which I so appreciate, and the material is thicker meaning it held things in nicely. I also loved the top… it’s one I’ll be reaching for this summer season too (assuming I can still fit into the top, haha).
Tommy John Second Skin Pants + Henley: These were an end of the year find, but since discovering them I haven’t slept in anything else (so for the past 28 days these have been my go-to… with washes during the day…). They literally feel like second skin and are so comfortable for lounging and an evening of sleep. They’re also lightweight which makes them perfect for bedtime.
Abercrombie Sweatshirt: Another go-to… that I own in multiple colors. So soft on the inside and I love the slight puff sleeve detail. A great wardrobe basic for sure.
Spanx Biker Shorts: I bought these at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale and literally wore them almost everyday throughout the summer… great for everyday life or for workouts. I found them to be extremely flattering + comfortable. They also had an interior pocket for working out. I’ll be living in them again this summer… once my legs get a tan.
Ugg Cozette Slippers: I received these back in April and wear them all the time. They’re great in the warmer months, since they’re opened toed… and in the cooler months they’re just as comfy with some cozy socks.
Free People Ribbed Skirt: I bought this last January when I was pregnant knowing that I could wear it then and now…. and that’s just what I’ve been able to do. It’s easy to dress down with sneakers or slides and can be dressed up with some heels as well. Stretchy and fits great.
Elemis Rose Facial Cleansing Balm: MY FAVORITE BEAUTY PRODUCT FIND OF 2019. Hands down my ultimate favorite. It feels so luxurious on the skin and removes all the makeup + dirt from the day easily. I can’t recommend this product more. I actually ran out of it and had to wait 4 days until the next product arrived and I could notice a difference in the softness + plumpness of my skin (I guess that’s how you know if a product really works or not…). I’ve been using it in conjunction with this oil + overnight mask for the ultimate dose of moisture. (Shannon20 for 20% off)
Summer Friday’s CC Serum: As a fan of the Summer Friday Jet Lag Mask I was excited to give this CC Serum a try. Love how it has helped to even out my complexion… less redness… and I use it during my morning makeup routine. Just purchased my second round.
Ilia Eyeshadow Pallet: I started switching out my makeup for more non-toxic lines and this eyeshadow pallet has been my go-to ever since I got it back in August. The shades are beautiful for both day + night as well.
Billie Razor, Shaving Cream, + Sudsy Body Wash: I’d been using TJ’s razor up until I tried the Billie Razor back in September… along with their shaving cream + sudsy body wash. I love all three and have appreciated having the membership… which you can customize based on your personal shaving needs… because it’s one less thing I have to remember to pick up at Target…
Lawless Woke Up Like This Foundation: Another non-toxic addition back in August. I was looking for a medium coverage foundation that didn’t feel heavy, or look cake-y, on my skin. This was recommended to me by someone on instagram and I quickly came to love it. It provides excellent coverage, but doesn’t feel heavy on my skin… and it also still allows for the dewy look I love.
TULA Rose Eye Balm: I’ve been a huge fan of TULA since 2016 and the Rose Eye Balm that they launched earlier this year quickly became one of my go-to products this year for decreasing under-eye puffiness and overall brightening the area. It really has a great cooling affect as well. (Shannon20 for 20% off)
CB2 Round Gold Mirror: I initially bought a much smaller mirror for our entryway and every-time I walked past it the area felt off. I decided the mirror looked much too small for the area and decided to invest in this beautiful round mirror. It made such a huge difference and the space feels so much more complete now.
Slope Counter Stool: Another item that I should have initially purchased but went with a different option first. These leather slope barstools were slightly more than I initially wanted to pay… but once the first ones didn’t workout I knew that these would ultimately be the best option… and they have been. They’re incredibly comfortable and hold up really well with a toddler (read: the clean easily).
Havervill Side Chairs: I bought these on Black Friday last year (as in 2018) and they are one of my favorite items in our home. Super comfortable and I love the gold detailing.
Linen Duvet Cover: When we moved into our new master I decided to invest in a good basic white duvet cover. I’d heard so many great things about linen bedding so I gave it a try. Super happy I did… feels great on the body, keeps us the perfect temperature, and cleans nicely.
Large Jute Rug: I initially purchased the smaller white rug but quickly realized it was small for our master bedroom space. So I decided to layer underneath it for added texture. I wanted a jute rug, but my experience with jute rugs had been rough and not comfortable on the feet. I found this one and it’s perfect. It’s thicker and comfortable on the feet as well.
Headlands Pendant: I had my eye on this pendant light fixture when we moved into the house and the ceiling in the master bedroom was high enough to hang it from. I love this light. Gives off a good amount of light and the shadows it creates on the ceiling are beautiful.,
The Sill Succulents: I received my first sill succulent as a congratulatory gift for Camille and when it came time to finding greenery for our house I purchased a few. I love their beautiful pots and their succulents are so beautiful and come in various sizes.
