I once gave my dad a card… and I have the wording wrong… but it read something like this “A true measure of a man is not how tall he stands, but how low he kneels to help…” and it was of course accompanied by an image of a father + his younger child. I’ve always remembered that quote, and thought it to be so true. Seeing TJ (and my dad) with Harper always warms my heart… and as a father, I couldn’t imagine anyone better for Harper…. so, as we head into the holiday meant to celebrate all the men who give so much for their families, I decided to have TJ compile a list of his favorite items… perfect for gifting the man in your life…..
1. Clothing Items: This one is always a sure bet for me… both for TJ + my dad. TJ and I have a hard time waiting to give each other gifts (we’re so bad at all of that!)…. so I got him these perforated slip-on kicks (another similar option) for everyday wear (he’d been wanting a pair of slip-ons for a while now)… and knew he’d love these shorts for summer. The henley he is wearing is a great everyday basic piece, which we initially purchased for Hawaii, but he wears it all the time. A few other favorites include this polo shirt, swim trunks, lounge hoodie, workout windbreaker, and these jeans are his go-to’s (for work and fun).
One request I received was for a nice pair of black work shoes that a hubby could wear to work with a suit…. one of TJ’s favorite work shoes are Allen Edmonds… very well made (last forever…) and comfortable. His favorites are this wingtipped pair and this plain toe oxford.
2. Accessories: I bought TJ this cross necklace for his 30th birthday, and he wears it daily… I followed up with the black chain for one of our anniversaries. This woven leather bracelet was part of his Father’s Day gift last year and he wears it all the time. If your guy is in need of a new, quality, briefcase, this is TJ’s go-to! And these clubmaster sunglasses are on heavy rotation as well.
3. Electronics: I don’t know many men who don’t love electronics… TJ is super into music, so these headphones are his favorites (my dad’s too)… and we bring this little portable speaker system with us when we travel. Annnnd, if they don’t already have one, you can’t go wrong with an Alexa. Oh, and we also stumbled across this “espresso anywhere” maker and think it’s so convenient. If they’re a coffee lover, for sure check it out!
4. Outdoor Living: So, this beer tap was a new addition to my parent’s backyard last summer… and to say it’s gotten it’s worth would be an understatement. A fun gadget for any beer loving guy in your life. If your guy loves grilling, try out this grill set as well as this portable fold up BBQ grill…. you can take it anywhere! And if you spend a lot of time outside at summer concerts or baseball tale gates, this chair is amazing!!!
5. Activities: I always love the idea of giving experiences as well. It’s something I typically do for my dad! A gift certificate to his favorite airline (Hawaiian…..) or hotel…. a nice bottle of wine and gift certificate to a favorite restaurant. A round of golf… sometimes those are the best gifts there are!
