Family Life || Easy Summer Activities

It’s hard to believe that the summer season is unofficially upon us… schools are officially out for us this week, Memorial Day this coming weekend, longer days, and warmer temps are all here. And while we love spending the majority of our summer days in the pool, at the beach, or playing outside, there are moments when we (aka, me) all just need to relax a little and do something more low-key… a craft, read a book, color/paint… basically anything that allows me to sit down (haha). And while I can easily read the books and color/paint with the girls, I struggle in the crafts/creativity department. Anyone else? Asking for a friend….

And if you’re like me, and looking for fun, creative, and imaginative ways to entertain the kiddos, but aren’t necessarily gifted in the crafts department, I highly recommend Walmart’s new Smarts + Crafts line… it’s a new, exclusive line, that has everything from brightly colored furniture + decor to arts + crafts kits that are engaging and educational. Basically a life saver for me!

When we got these brightly colored flower pillows the girls were so excited… they immediately began building a little nook outside where they could read some of their favorite books (including “Little Owl’s Night” “Little Blue Truck” and “ABC What Can She Be?”)… and also added them to their indoor fort (they basically made one large bed). The line also has a lot of craft supplies and kits, like this Fairy Tale Craft Kit which gave them the opportunity to build a magical mermaid, fairy, and unicorn. I also think this paint + play unicorn kit is a great activity, as well as this 39 piece activity kit for on-the-go moments… which will be perfect for our road trip up the coast this summer. I love that I can get them with quick shipping and great prices.

So, here’s to a summer filled with fun, imagination, and creativity!

Thank you to Walmart for sponsoring this post
