Shoes are always hard for me. I have fairly strict criteria, and then it’s all trial and error from there. In my 20’s I loved 4″ heels… now I struggle in a 3″ (I have no idea how I ever danced all night in those)… and much prefer a kitten, or low, heel if I must. Shoes must check off both the stylish and comfort boxes… because who has time to wear uncomfortable shoes these days, right??
I purchased these western boots at the Shopbop sale about a month ago and had such high hopes for them. They were (are) beautiful right out of the box… and iffy on the comfort level (could have been the heel height my calves were screaming from… and I def couldn’t get them off on my own… needed TJ’s help in that department…). When I tried to pair them with a few different outfits, I just wasn’t feeling them… I felt that they didn’t fit my style (mostly elevated casual) and just felt a bit “forced.” I also didn’t think I’d wear them nearly enough to justify the price… so I sent them back (if only the heel had been 1.5 inches shorter… I am starting to sound like my mom now… haha).
All that to say, the shoes below have passed my personal shoe test: great on comfort and practicality, stylish, and great to wear for more than an hour (haha). Many I’ve had for a couple of years, and a couple are newer this season (I did end up finding a lower shaft Western boot that I love…).
I have a few other styles on my wish-list this season, but have yet to purchase any, so for right now I’m comfortably walking around in the shoes below…
I hope everyone has a great day ahead!

I got these sherpa lined rain-boots last November… and it only rained for us in December, so I unfortunately didn’t get much use out of them. I’m hopeful this season will be rainier and I’ll be able to wear them more, because they are so warm and comfortable. They only come in half sizes- and for reference I went up to the next full size since I’m a half size.
Alright, so as I mentioned above, I tried out a high western boot and realized it just wasn’t for me… no matter how much I wanted to love the look. So I purchased these lower shaft western boots when they went on sale (which are 25% off right now) and I love them. They’re a beautiful lighter shade, so they go with so many items in my closet. I can’t wait to wear them out of the house (they just arrived over the weekend, haha). I went up a half size and they fit perfectly (and I can *never* get boots off my feet without help and I was able to do so with these, haha).
(Sweater, Jeans)
I love these Yale booties so much… everything from the color, style, and comfort level. They look great with all different types of jeans, and the heel height is low, making them comfortable enough for all day wear… but also easy enough to dress up if you want. I purchased my regular size and they fit perfectly.
(Wrap, jeans and sweatshirt sold out)
I purchased these suede mules during the Jenni Kayne Labor Day Weekend sale and love them- they’re so comfortable, and look great with so many different outfits. They can be worn with dresses, jeans, and even joggers and work for the office or casual life. They run true to size and are 20% off until 10/19.
(Jeans, Turtleneck)
It’s no secret I love to be comfortable, and these shearling mules fit the bill… they’re basically slippers that are appropriate for life outside the house. It’s been a bit warm to wear them, but I was finally able to wear them on Sunday and Monday… and can’t wait to pull them out more. They’re from Beek, and made from my favorite molded footbed, so they’re buttery soft AND fluffy soft… not a bad combo. I’m a half size and went up to the next full size in these, and you can get 10% off with code SHANNON10.
(Sweatshirt, Joggers)
For our last trip to Park City I went on the hunt for a camel/tan colored Chelsea boot and found this pair- comfortable right out of the box and kept my feet nice and warm. I think they look best paired with a straight leg jean, but I am sure they would look cute with certain maxi dresses as well. I found them to run tts.
I’ve shared my love for these high top sneakers many times (styled them over 15 ways here) but they are definitely a go-to sneaker. I like that they hit lower than most high tops, and they’re overall really comfortable. Sizing is interesting. I went up to the next full size, but I also think I could have gone down (I actually ordered them in black in both sizes, so I’ll report back which one actually fits the best). I did wear a thick sock with them in Park City and they were still a great fit.
Another pair of sneakers I’ve shared many times before, the Veja Recife sneaker. Love the velcro and I have found them to be versatile (styled multiple ways here)… as you can see from the casual with jeans and a sweater dress look above. I’ve worn them for hours on end and haven’t had an issue with their comfort level.
(Dress, Jeans)
So I know it’s not snowing anywhere right now, but I purchased these Ivory lace up lug sole boots last fall/winter season for our cold weather trip to Park City, and they were so comfortable… and love the ivory color for winter. I did end up needing to go up a 1/2 size, and wore them with a thicker cashmere sock.
I purchased these trainer sneakers back in fall 2020, and they are so comfortable. I know I’ve shared them so many times here before, but they’re just a really great, stylish, sneaker that gives you max comfort. I’ve worn them for short durations, and longer (i.e. walking all day at the San Diego Zoo) durations and my feet remained happy. They’re 25% off right now and run true to size.
(Joggers, Pullover, Coco Sweater, Leggings)
So I purchased these shearling open back sneakers from Golden Goose last fall and love them… I’m between sizes with GG, and these fit me perfectly. I will say that they have gone up significantly in price (like so many other things) and while I absolutely love them, not sure they’re worth that much with the new price.
I got these boots last fall and love them… I don’t wear them as much as I thought I would, mainly because of the higher heel height, but they are beautiful, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a higher heeled chelsea boot. They’re well made and comfortable as well. Hopefully I’ll wear them a bit more out in the evenings this season!
(Sweater, coat is old Madewell)
These are quintessentially fall in Southern California… the shearling adds some warmth on days when it’s mild enough for sandals. Leave it to Beek to pull off the perfect fall sandal. I got these last season, and as I mentioned above with the shearling mule, they’re made with a molded footbed so they’re guaranteed to be comfortable. I wear these with jeans, leggings, and joggers… and they look great. I went up to the next full size. SHANNON10 for 10% off.
