True confession…. I wore these jeans to Disneyland last weekend and when I was getting out of a ride they popped open. Nothing like a friendly little reminder that the bump is growing + it’s time to consider alternatives. Something I’ve always relied heavily on, and will continue to do so while pregnant, is finding simple ways to make my everyday “basic” items stretch (literally) into multiple outfits. There is nothing better than being able to mix and match pieces in your closet, and one of the easiest ways to make each item look “different” is by adding different accessories. I’m always sharing my favorite gold jewelry accessories that allow me to do so, but today I thought I’d share with you my picks for “cold weather accessories….”
SCARVES: I had my eye on this ribbed scarf way back in August… so when October hit I thought it would be a more appropriate time to make the purchase. It’s super soft + comes in several color options. It’s a great option when you want to add something cozy to your everyday outfit. A few other choices that I also like are ivory mixed knit scarf (all the different textures are beautiful), camel fringe scarf (I got this one last year and it’s an excellent option), and this faux fur stole (I own one similar from 2 years ago…here with an old pregnancy post…and still wear it).
HATS: I’ve always been a fan of a cute hat for those days when you don’t want to do anything with your hair… or when it’s simply been too long since your last wash. My current favorites are this pom beanie (I bought it in the rust color), cable-knit beanie (I’ve had this one for two seasons…), leopard print beanie, and this wide brimmed fedora (the color is gorgeous).
BELTS: Another super simple way to add dimension to any outfit… be it dress, jeans, skirt, or slacks…. A few favorites this season include this calf hair print option, beautiful round buckle suede belt, and this studded belt (which is more of a splurge option).
EXTRA EXTRA: Tossing in a pair of gloves or a cute hair tie is also another easy way to stay stylish in the cool weather. If it was cold enough here I’d be all over these cashmere gloves… and this velvet scrunchie, or leopard scrunchi, are perfect for a low pony or messy top knot (I own it in blush).
