Fall Style || Comfy Kicks + Leopard Dresses

I’ve always loved routine, structure, schedules, and such…. it’s always helped me stay organized, on track, and get things done. Yet, something I’ve learned as a mom is that while my structure + schedules are helpful, little toddlers can certainly have their own mindset. A few examples in our life as of late….

I can’t get little miss to sit still to save my life, but take her to a formal dance class and that girl will sit as still as a statue for the first 25 minutes of a 45 minute class…. go figure.

If you watch my stories, you’d know that getting little miss to wear a pair of shoes was just a battle I didn’t want to fight… one stubbed toe later and we won’t step outside without a pair on our feet. Her current favorites are these old school Nike Cortezes…. she jumps, sprints, and twirls around in these bad boys…

Maybe the best… my good little eater has become quite picky as of late… and sitting at the table to eat is certainly a struggle (she prefers to stand and eat….)….

Oh, and her obsession with “staying in white car….” when we’re running errands. Thank goodness for various grocery store delivery services and Nordstrom curbside pickup….

So I’ve learned that picking battles + flexibility are the key… especially when it comes to little miss picking out what she wants to wear. She’s become quite opinionated in that department, as evidenced by a recent trip to Nordstrom where she proceeded to show me what she thought was “cute.” She seemed to have an affinity for the crewcuts by J. Crew section (love Nordstrom’s selection for boys and girls)… specifically these camo leggings, little leopard print dress (which also comes in basic grey + blush), leopard leggings, this cute black and white stripe jumpsuit, and this basic tie front long sleeve tee. For the little guys, this color-block tee, fleece cargos, and this basic henley are super cute.

And while she keeps me on my toes daily, I can’t help but smile inside as all of the above is simply an expression of her budding independence…. and besides, at least she let me teach her the importance of a good comfortable kick paired with a casual dress…..
