As I edit + write this post, I’m currently sitting outside in 80 degree temperatures…. in shorts + a lightweight hoodie (it’s early evening… so I can just barely get away with that combo….). So, you can imagine the beads of sweat that are likely dripping down my forehead just looking at this post… or better yet, imagine the warmth actually taking them. If you live in a part of the country that will have fall temps in full swing over the next couple of weeks, then this post is for you. If you live in California, simply flag this post and re-visit in, best case scenario November, and December to be on the safe side….

All sarcasm aside, I really do love fall…. football season, pumpkin muffins (I might be the only one out there not a pumpkin spice latte fan….), evenings that get dark a little earlier, fall holidays…. pumpkin patches, Halloween costumes… Thanksgiving feasts and traditions….. there really isn’t much to dislike about the season. So, when the temps do settle into a cooling trend, comfortable + chic outerwear is necessary. I’ve rounded up my favorite pieces of outerwear for this coming fall season (also be sure to check out this selection of plush coats…)…..

1. Oversized Fleece (featured above, also comes in red): If you’re looking to feel as if you’ve been wrapped up in a cloud, this cozy little number is for you. It’s roomy enough to fit another heavy layer underneath, if you need to in the winter months… I love it paired with jeans, joggers, or leggings. Also soft enough to wear around the house with the AC blasting, if necessary.

2. Boucle Coat: Such a gorgeous light pink color… a perfect option to help you immediately feel pulled together. My favorite features have to be the beautiful button details, neckline, and the price. It would also be a perfect casual layer, or great to layer over office attire.

3. Utility Vest: I’ve had this one for several years, and every season they bring it back. I love it as an easy throw on and go layer over a thermal or basic long sleeve tee. Goes great with leggings or jeans… or even over a t-shirt dress.

4. Lightweight Bomber Jacket (seen here): I’m pretty much obsessed with this lightweight bomber jacket. I wear it post workout, or toss it on for a super casual outfit. I brought it to New York, and my purple shampoo exploded all over it… so it’s currently at the dry cleaners and I’m crossing my fingers they can get it looking brand new… if not, you bet I’m going to buy another one. It’s roomy enough that you can fit a very lightweight layer underneath (not a sweater though).

5. Faux Leather Moto Jacket (seen here): Such a chic option for any outfit… dress up a casual outfit by adding this as your top layer… toss it on over a summer dress to make it fall ready… or pair it with black jeans and a white blouse for a beautiful evening look. It’s heavy enough that you don’t need a very heavy layer underneath to stay warm… and I love the hoodie option.

6. Faux Fur Vest: One of my favorite pieces to wear when the temps dip… and this one is gorgeous. I love the neutral tones and think it would be beautiful with any outfit.

7. Leopard Bomber Jacket: I’ve shared this jacket before, but that’s because it’s so good. I did a lot of looking around to find the perfect leopard print jacket for this season, and I’ve settled on this one. The price is good (some of the other ones I’ve seen are well into the $300 price tag), and the fit is exactly what I’m looking for. Can’t wait to wear it when the minute temperatures hit 69 degrees……

8. Classic Trench Coat: Love the look of a classic trench coat… and this one is as classic as it gets. It can easily be paired with workwear, leggings + a sweater, or casually tossed on over jeans. This one is temporarily marked down as well.

9. Teddy Coat: Maybe it’s the beautiful mauve color… or maybe it’s how comfy it looks… but this jacket is beautiful! Would surely keep you warm all season long… and well  into those winter months as well! The length is also great to keep you extra warm and snug.

10.  Perfect Puffer Jacket: The mixed textures of this jacket give it a twist on a classic puffer coat… I get the sense you wouldn’t feel like a snowman wearing this one… with beautiful color options, I think this is a beautiful option!
