I came back from a walk early yesterday morning and Harper greeted me saying she wasn’t feeling very well, and had a cough. We obviously kept her home from school and I made her a doctor’s appointment to be on the safe side. All the way there, I prepped her that she would likely be getting tested for COVID again, and she told me she was scared, but if she could sit on my lap, she would be ok. That’s for sure not how it went down in the doctor’s office. 15 minutes later, a nurse and myself holding her down, and we finally had the negative result that we needed. Thankful for patient doctors and nurses. Needless to say the day could only go up from there, hahah.
So, now here we are, Tuesday… one step closer to Friday… but who’s counting down anyway??
I rounded up some of my go-to shoes for the fall season for today’s post… mules, booties, boots, and some go to sneakers are all included (and I realize I forgot to include these mules…). But if you’re already thinking ahead to winter shoes these might not quite cut it… but I do like this ivory combat boots and these lug boots.
Anyway… I hope you all have a great day ahead!
_________
BLACK CHELSEA BOOTIES
These black booties are new to me this season, but they’re so chic, classic, and comfortable enough for all day wear with their cushioned in sole. I sized up a half size in them and the fit is perfect. They’re currently 20% off.
BLOCK HEEL BOOTIE
I purchased these cognac booties last season, but wasn’t really able to wear them…. at all. So I can’t wait to pull them out this fall/winter season. I love how they look with dresses and straight leg jeans… and you can even tuck a skinny jean into them as well. They come in several different color options, and I went up a 1/2 size.
SNAKESKIN BOOT
These snakeskin boots were a purchase from two years ago but I absolutely love how they dress up an all black outfit. They have a lower heel, so they’re really comfortable and when I wore them it was easy for me to chase after the girls in them! This particular pair has since sold out, but I found an almost identical option here.
HIKING BOOTS
I purchased these hiking boots specifically for our most recent trip to Park City and they were comfortable straight out of the box (which was a good thing since I didn’t bother to break them in ahead of time…). I love the colors and that they will work year round, even while hiking the trails back at home. I’m a 6.5 and purchased a 7… and it fits perfectly.
TRAINER SNEAKERS
(Leggings, Similar Shirt Jacket)
These trainer sneakers were a pair I purchased last year, and wasn’t sure about them when I first got them. They were a little heavier than I was used to, but once I put them on, they were super comfortable, and they ended up being one of my most worn pairs last year. I purchased my regular size.
BLOCK HEEL SANDAL
I wanted a pair of comfortable, block heels, for date nights this fall… and while an open toe isn’t always fall friendly, I prefer the look to something closed… so this was the pair I opted for. They’re very comfortable and easy to wear for any occasion that calls for a dressier shoe!
WOVEN FLATS
This woven flat is such a classic shoe that can easily be dressed up or down depending on the occasion… great for a business casual office or to wear with a casual pair of jeans and a pullover.
GOLDEN GOOSE SNEAKER
(Joggers, Tank)
These perforated sneakers were another purchase from last year and I was finally able to wear them for the first time a few weeks ago… I always love the look of golden goose sneakers, but I always advise that if your main goal is comfort, these aren’t for you. They aren’t uncomfortable at all, they just don’t feel as if you’re walking on clouds. I’m also in between sizes (6.5) and I go between a 36 and a 37.
DESIGNER INSPIRED SHERPA MULES
(Pants, Sweatshirt, Coat)
When I saw these designer inspired mules I was hesitant, worried they wouldn’t be comfortable. Wrong. They’re my favorite school drop off shoe… I call them designer inspired street smart slippers. And my doubts on comfort? Unfounded. Comfortable and a fun fall shoe for any basic outfit. Here is the designer pair.
SHEARLING MULE
I purchased a pair of shearling mules last year and loved them… then I found this less expensive pair, and wanted to give them a try. They’re great, but pretty much sold out everywhere (available in black and ivory here). Regardless, I still think a shearling mule is a great shoe for the fall/winter season… easy to dress down for comfort with joggers or up a little with jeans. Here is the Jenni Kayne pair, and another pair I found….
LEOPARD FLATS
(Jeans, Tee (similar), Blazer is old Lioness)
These leopard flats were a pair I purchased two September’s ago, but styled them several ways in this post. They’re really versatile, great for a business casual work environment, and super comfortable. My mom has a pair of these flats in the taupe and loves them as well!
SHEARLING SANDALS
If you liked the tan leather Beek sandals I wore all summer, these are the fall/winter version with cozy shearling linking the top band…. they’re great for those who live in more mild fall/winter climates, and I can easily toss on a black sock with them when temps get even cooler. They’re buttery soft and 15% off with code SHANNON15. Love this alternative.
