Everyday Style || Top 10 Spring Basics For Your Wardrobe…

I always love the change of seasons… change of activities, change of weather, and typically a change in wardrobe. So today I’m rounding up some of my favorite spring basics that can easily take you through the season. You can mix + match them all together… creating something of a “capsule” spring wardrobe….. to create new and unique items… or mix them with pieces you already own to make them “fresh” again…..

1. Lightweight Jacket: I find that spring temps are typically fickle… always cool in the morning… and warming up slightly in the afternoon. Having a great lightweight jacket makes layering over your warmer weather pieces easy. I’ve had this utility jacket  since last season and it’s still a favorite… I also think a denim jacket or suede jacket are excellent options…. or at least these are the pieces I reach for time and time again. All three keep me at the perfect temperature when the spring temps are on the cooler side, and I can easily mix and match them with the pieces below.

2. Lightweight/Open Knit Pullover: This is always a must for my spring wardrobe… mainly because they easily work with so many different outfit combinations… over a dress, front tucked into jeans or denim shorts… layered over a basic tee…. and they’re usually a great weight so they keep you warm enough but not too hot. My favorites in this category include the pullover I’m wearing today, this slouchy oversized knit, soft cotton v-neck pullover (seen here), as well as this linen v-neck.

3. White Jeans: I wear white jeans year round, but pull them out more frequently starting in the spring. They’re a fresh take on a go-to… not to mention they make everyone look instantly pulled together. I snagged this white pair at the end of January (should still work postpartum as well) but have my eye on this slim leg, distressed option for post pregnancy.

4. Little White Dress: A perfect alternative to the LBD for the warmer weather + longer days…. I shared one of my favorites in this post (dress), but I also own this white slip-dress (size small fits the bump and will have a nice loose fit post bump).

5. Basic V-Neck Tee: Always a must… it goes with so much and is such an easy grab and go option to front tuck into jeans or shorts…. and easily layers under jackets + sweaters. My all time favorite is the whisper cotton tee… not too thick, not see through, and soft…. comes in tons of color options too.

6. Casual Jumpsuit: I’m obsessed with jumpsuits… I think they’re a great alternative to basic pants + a blouse… or a dress… and they’re typically super comfortable too. I did a round up of my favorites in this post…. but I also love this white one I wore this past weekend (nursing friendly post pregnancy….), black jumpsuit, and this casual grey option…. they can all be mixed with most of the pieces mentioned here and are all super comfortable.

7. Denim Shorts: My favorite way to wear denim shorts in the spring is with a lightweight pullover (all the options above are perfect) front tucked…. and I can’t recommend the a golde shorts more. They’re worth the investment, as I’m going on season 3 with the same pair (and they’re still in great condition….).

8. Neutral Slide: A great pair of neutral slides can get you through the spring season seamlessly…. I prefer mules, as they go with dresses, shorts, jeans, etc…. and keep my toes warm. My go-to pair this season has been this white pair (I’m sure you’re sick of seeing them at this point….) and I just purchased this raffia pair and can’t wait to style them.

9. Tote Bag: There are a few options here, depending on what you’re looking for. I ended up buying this fun rope tote bag because I was set on straw bags + structured totes… but if you’re looking for a neutral structured tote this is my go-to…. and love this straw bag (I’ve had it for 3 seasons) as well as this straw tote (such a great price).

10. Gold Accessories: Always my go to for dressing up my basics…. I feel as if they just look great with everything…. some great pieces for spring include the “x” earrings I’m wearing in today’s post…. beaded adjustable bracelet + this everyday casual necklace.
