I’ve been pretty mindful this month about adding to my closet. At the end of December I took inventory and made note of a few small gaps in my wardrobe, taking note of items that were missing that would help to pull it all together…
One question I’ve been asking myself (over the last year) before I make a clothing purchase is “Can I create at least 3-4 outfits with this item? Does it mix + match easily with other items I already own?” If the answer is “yes” then it’s likely a smart purchase, one that will enhance the items I already own. If the answer is “no” then I question the reasons for buying it… maybe it’s a special occasion item… or possibly a pieces that I know I’ll wear over and over again the same way…. either way, this line of deduction has really helped me to make smart purchases over the past year.
That being said, one of the gaps in my closet was a long sleeve white bodysuit + a dark wash pair of relaxed, distressed, denim. So I naturally took to Nordstrom to start my search, since they always have the best selection of quality, on trend, items (not to mention they now offer next day shipping for The Nordy Club members… which is a lifesaver for this momma…). When I saw that my favorite basic black bodysuit now came in white I knew it would be perfect (go with what you know, right?). It fits like a glove + is double lined so not see through at all… something I always look for with a white bodysuit….. it’s smoothing and so easy to mix and match with my other favorite basics. And to show you just how versatile it is I’ve styled it four different ways today…. all with items I already own + love. It work dressed up, casual, and off duty, which is something I always value. I especially love it paired with these distressed denim jeans that I wore on our date night the other evening…..
So if you’re closet is missing any of the pieces below, they’re all favorites that I highly recommend!
