A few weeks ago, when Harper saw the most recent ultrasound photos of our little lady, she said that she wanted her to “Come out and play with me now….” As I tried to explain that she was still growing and not quiet ready to come into the world, Harper became sad and seemingly didn’t quite understand (for obvious reasons….). In an attempt to give her (a toddler) a general idea of when her “best friend” (yes, she’s already told me that she’s her best friend) would be arriving, I told her that when the butterflies appear then “she” will come.

Well, a swarm of butterflies overtook our part of the country this past week……

An omen??

All that to say, I used butterflies to give her a general sense of “sometime in the spring….” and, well, spring is pretty much upon us (officially March 20th). And with an official change in seasons, comes a change to some of my everyday basics. Almost time to pack away the heavy coats, sneakers, and beanies and pull out the light + airy pieces meant for warmer weather and longer days….

I was particularly drawn to  this button up cardigan for its lightweight nature… and ability to mix in with jeans, or layer over a cute bodycon dress… and this tank is perfectly stretchy to fit over the bump and use as an everyday layering piece. I also think this leopard print cap is a great option for those days when you just don’t want to fuss with your hair (I actually own it and it’s adorable)…. and what spring outfit it complete without the perfect straw tote?? This one is large enough to do “mom life” and still maintain style. The best part is everything is budget friendly, and will arrive to you within days (mine arrived within 2) of ordering (because, who wants to wait longer than a week for an item to arrive??).

So, we have the butterflies + spring basics covered… let’s just hope our little spring baby can hold on a little longer… we’re not quite ready yet!
