Everyday Style || Dressed Up Cut-Offs

Well, if you’re reading this, please send us good luck thoughts as we’re likely currently thousands of feet in the air, in a small vessel, with two tiny unpredictable humans… one of which could have a meltdown at any given point (if we haven’t already had one at the airport….). And while I say that with sincere humor, I’m very serious about the good luck thoughts….. My mantra throughout the entire flight is just going to be “Mai Tai happy hours… Mai Tai happy hours….”

All that aside, one of my favorite pieces of clothing that I purchased when I was pregnant was this little white blazer. I knew it would be an item I could easily dress up, or down, during, and after pregnancy. Timeless, classic, and versatile…. and it’s proven to be just that over that past several months. Since I’m pretty basic in my approach to dressing, this blazer is a simple way to immediately elevate any look. You can easily wear it with jeans (seen here) or cute white shorts for an all white ensemble (seen here)… or with cut-offs as I’ve styled it today. The unstructured fit allows it to feel less formal and the material moves easily which makes it very comfortable….

I’ve said this before, but when I’m getting dressed in the morning I always try to follow the 3 piece rule. Basically, a top with bottoms and then an extra piece to give it a little extra something… a hat, belt, hair accessories, statement necklace (or just layered necklaces), or a cardigan/jacket. This white blazer is the perfect third piece for my slightly obsessive style rule….

A few other blazers that I’m currently loving include this plaid one (I bought one last fall and can’t wait to continue wearing it this season), oversized pinstripe blazer, and this taupe blazer (love how this looks….).

If you’re looking for a piece that can easily transition from summer to fall, the blazer is it!
