Biker shorts. TBH, I didn’t realize how polarizing they were. People either love them or hate them… or I get a variation of “I’m not brave enough…” or
“They just won’t look good on me.” Here’s my take on them. It’s way too hot in the summer to wear leggings all day… so these are basically akin to cut-offs in my book (because I don’t really wear jeans in the summer either…)….
That being said, I think it’s really about finding an inseam you’re comfortable with. I won’t go with an inseam less than 7″ because then it just looks like I’m wearing a pair of TJ’s boxer briefs… and that’s for sure not the look I’m going for. I bough this SPANX pair at the Nordstrom sale last year and can’t recommend them more (they also come in plus sizes as well)…. and this season was looking for a pair with a slightly longer inseam (which I think is universally flattering) and found the lululemon align biker shorts… buttery soft, high waisted, and fit so well… and I think they’re a great option if you fear that shorter bike shorts just won’t work for you. Both the SPANX + Align shorts will stay put whether you wear them for casual everyday life or a workout… and you won’t have to continuously pull them up and down….
Like I said above, I live in biker shorts come summer, but they’ve also been such a comfortable option during this stay at home period. So today I’m giving you 8 easy ways to wear them from the comforts of your own home. I used items primarily from April’s capsule wardrobe. Hope it helps you make a decision as to whether or not you want to give them a shot or not!
