I’ll never forget the first time I dabbled in the high waisted trend. It was six years ago…. and I remember thinking long and hard before I ripped the tag off those jeans. Fast forward to present day and I have a closet filled with various washes of high waisted jeans. Once you go high waisted, you can’t go back…. especially as a mom. I mean, the frequency with which I bend over to pick someone/something up just doesn’t lend itself to a low rise jean. And let’s not even talk about how well high waisted jeans hold everything in…..
Some more than others on that last point. I have pairs that I can wear for a couple hours, maybe for a date night, and others that I consider perfect for all day wear. Those that pass the test for all day life have the perfect amount of stretch, are soft, and incredibly comfortable (yes, jeans can be synonymous with comfort…). Enter these NYDJ skinny jeans with exclusive lift tuck technology… makes you look one size smaller by slimming the front and lifting the back (not that my postpartum bod could use any of that….). When I read that claim I was wary… but I had the same thought when I put them on the first time. They’re comfortable enough for doing life with kiddos… and the wash is dark enough for a business casual office. I paired them with this fun little eyelet top for a casual summer day outfit, but could easily switch it up for evening with this leopard print cami (love the wrap fit)…. and pair it with this linen blazer for the office…. or toss on these white Bermuda shorts with the linen blazer for a weekend brunch.
Bloomingdale’s has a great selection of NYDJ items for the summer months…. and I’m particularly happy with the petite selection of NYDJ jeans (a pair of jeans I don’t have to hem is much appreciated….). So if you’re in the market for a pair of jeans you can do life in for more than a few hours, I can’t recommend the selection they have more!
Here’s to jeans that hold everything together + feel great….
