Everyday Comfort || Lounging Style

Yesterday morning I had some intense Braxton Hicks contractions. I woke up feeling great (well, that’s all relative at 35 weeks) and headed out for a morning jog/walk (my new running combo these days) and when I came home, we headed out for a quick family breakfast. I’d had Braxton Hicks contractions throughout the morning, but as we sat at breakfast, they felt more intense than usual… and more frequent. I mentioned it to TJ…. who suggested I call the doctor. I decided to wait, since I could vividly remember “real” contractions from the first time around (…. and this is coming from a person who had three, yes you read that right, three false alarms…. I’m sure they knew us at the hospital by the time I went into real labor….). As I got ready they were still there, irregular, varying in intensity, and seemed to dissipate when I’d sit down and relax. By noon they had completely gone away…..

Yet in those three hours I couldn’t help but have a mild grade of anxiety control my thoughts…. the nursery is not even close to being ready (I have “things” but nothing is put together….), our permits have just been issued for the completion of our remodel (which will take at least another 4 weeks), hospital bags aren’t packed, I haven’t even registered myself for hospital check-in yet, etc……

 Then more sentimental thoughts, such as I’m not sure I’m mentally ready for this to be our last day with Harper… as a family of three…. and while I know the blessing and joy we will experience in expanding our little family, I also am not blind to the changes it will cause…. So while little lady decided to stay put for another day (hopefully several more weeks) it was a gentle reminder to me to soak in all the time we have together right now…. and to maybe even relax a little more…. maybe have some popcorn on the couch with little miss + watch her favorite movie….

And to enjoy some simple downtime in comfies…. I’ve been loving Jockey’s new line of sleepwear, and their Breathe line of tanks + underwear… each piece is so soft + comfortable you don’t even feel as if you’re wearing anything. I’ve been living in this basic tank (I’ve shared it so many times over the past couple of months) that I own in black + white…. and these pajama pants are light and airy, so they keep me nice and cool at night (not always easy to do for a pregnant woman….). I’ve also been wearing this seamfree convertible bralette lately and love the feminine style and feel. Harper decided she wanted in on the action and has been wearing my matching shorts. A few other pieces that I am currently loving include these mauve joggers (also in this cropped style… super cute) and I’m looking at this sleep shirt for those post-pregnancy days since it has snap front buttons….

So I guess I have all my basis covered…. a bowl of popcorn, comfies, and my little miss by my side (just missing TJ)… the perfect combo for some QT.
