I’ve heard it said, on multiple occasions, from more than one style maven, that if you haven’t worn a piece in your closet for over a year it’s time to give it away. I don’t follow that rule,  hence this top. I originally purchased it the summer after I graduated from college (yes, that was eight years ago), from Anthropologie, and wore it down to San Diego for a weekend get together with friends, and it never came out again (yet, of course, I HAD to have it). So, when I was looking at all of the fabulous Memorial Day sales I came across an oh-so-similar number at J Crew. I sauntered into my closet, hoping my memory served me correctly and that it was still hanging towards the back of my closet. Low and behold it was there. Here is how the reveal went after I tossed it on in the above featured outfit:

Me to TJ: How do you like this?

TJ: I love it, but don’t you have something similar to it (this was him thinking this was one of my NEW purchases…)

Moral of the story? You don’t have to toss out/giveaway EVERYTHING you haven’t worn in a year 🙂
