Elevated Spring + Summer Shorts

The week after an extended vacation always takes a bit of easing back into, if you will. Time changes, moving back into “schedule” mode, meal planning, etc… and I always feel as if it takes me a solid five days to get back into the swing of regular life. This transition has been a bit slower, given the fact that Camille came home with a pretty nasty cold, but we’ll get there!

And chatting about transitions, we transitioned from very warm weather in Maui back to some chilly, rainy, temps. But I still have hope that true Southern California spring temps are around the corner (just like I hold out hope that we’ll experience a true fall in October, haha). And with warmer temps means I could finally pull out some of my favorite shorts….

I purchased the Rome Short from Sézane last May in the lighter denim wash, and loved them so much I added this darker wash to my wardrobe for spring and summer. They’re a great, elevated, short since there isn’t any distressing, and they have a beautiful, belted, waistline. I often find shorts like these to be overwhelming on my shorter frame, but these fit beautifully. They aren’t too baggy, have great length, and can easily be dressed up or down depending on accessories. I’ve styled them several different ways below, with other wardrobe favorites, for a little bit of spring (and summer) inspo!

And with that, I hope everyone has a wonderful day ahead!
