Date night: One of the best nights of the week! One of the best parts: the outfit, of course! (Ok, the company too, I guess!). Shannon and I had the opportunity to collaborate with the gorgeous Chloe Curnel, creator of the fashion/lifestyle blog, nomad en vogue to put together some “en vogue” date night looks! Chloe paired her flannel with this leather skirt to find a perfect balance of chic and edgy! The flannel is a classic piece this season, and can be dressed up or down. Chloe dressed it up by pairing it with this edgy but feminine black quilted clutch and black leather skirt…and really, is there anything more in season right now than leather?!  The leopard print shoes make this outfit classically chic from head to toe. Feminine + a touch of edge + chic…now that’s a formula for a fabulous date night outfit!

Shannon paired this flirty, floral top with a fun, drop-waist skirt (we are both so into these lately, and they seem to be popping up more and more!) Adding these flirty details, like the heart ring and cut out bracelet, is perfectly appropriate for a date night outfit, especially when matched with the soft-spoken nude heels and neutral bag. Sometimes you just have to let the main pieces do the flirting!

I chose this embellished top with a funky army jacket-I just love the juxtaposition of tough army piece with soft, feminine top. The whole thing comes together with this simple, classic black skirt (with POCKETS!). And again, leopard print shoes just scream date night. I also chose a loose, low bun for a modern, low-maintenance, but still done up look. Don’t underestimate the importance of hair and makeup in creating a look!

Sometimes jeans and a cute top seem like the easiest go-to outfits for date nights, but sometimes those outfits are just as easily dressed up with a fun skirt, flirty shoes, or a spunky jacket! Plus, flannel, floral prints, and embellished tops are HUGE this season, and can be dressed up or down simply by pairing them with jeans, a simple maxi skirt, etc. So have some fun with your date night outfit! It might even make the date even more fun!
