As I mentioned in my “Weekend Recap” post, TJ and I headed out for a somewhat spontaneous date night on Saturday evening. It had been a little while since we headed out for a dinner just the two of us… I’m an old lady when I’m pregnant and prefer to be in comfy clothes and back on the couch by 8pm…. so we made 5:45pm dinner reservations and headed out to our favorite Greek spot. I was initially saving this beautiful lace blouse for an event I had yesterday, but decided it would be perfect for a night out with TJ….
And with it being Valentine’s Day and everything, I am always reminded of our first date together… since it was technically for Valentine’s day (well, a few days after since I was still in college and he was back at home working). We headed out to our favorite little spot, right on the water, and enjoyed a couple Long Island Iced Teas (obviously this was when I was in college… a couple iced teas now and I’d be in big trouble….). Conversation was natural and unforced… and it felt very comfortable…..
And while the years have passed (14 to be exact since that first date) that ease of being in each other’s presence hasn’t. I think Valentine’s Day gets a bad rap (sometimes), as being a cheesy holiday, but it can be such a simple day where you are reminded of what initially brought you together, why you’re still together, and the parts of the relationship that you cherish and value. We’ll be heading out for manicures + pedicures later this afternoon… and will later order take-out and watch a movie together. Nothing over the top… just a day that gives us another excuse to spend some extra time together.
So… if you have a fun night out with your SO planned a few of my favorite tops for a special night out include this lace camisole (duh), eyelet tunic top, simple + clean white camisole, navy polka dot blouse, and this beautiful sheer black blouse.
