When I was younger, I immediately wanted to wear any new clothing pieces I received as presents on Christmas morning. Sometimes, there were even mid-day outfit changes. As I have gotten older, not much has changed. Anything new is typically worn day of. Yet, I always have comfort in mind when I’m looking to dress for the day. Since there will most likely (okay, definitely) be over-indulging on the day (think prime rib, scalloped potatoes… Christmas cookies, chocolate pie…. yes, not so itsy bitsy…) I like to opt for a looser fitting top. This poncho has been a favorite for the past two years, and it’s the perfect topper to any ensemble if you’re wanting to look chic and looking to indulge (another #winwin). And since I always like to look a little bit fancier than my everyday wear, these over the knee boots add just what I’m looking for (and are oh-so comfortable). We’re a casual family, who loves to get together, sip a little wine (not for me this year), engage in conversation, and share in the joy of the season… so this little get-up fits the bill.
