Celebratory Weekend

As I wrote earlier this week, the hubby and I headed up to Hollywood last weekend to celebrate his birthday! I am such a believer in celebrating life, so I guess that’s why every little event is cause for celebration in my book. I’ll celebrate Friday nights (I mean, I did make it through four days of work), Wednesday nights (We’re halfway there!), running an extra mile than the previous week, stepping out of my comfort zone… you name it, I’ll celebrate it! Maybe it’s because life is precious, and we’re never guaranteed tomorrow… or maybe it’s because I like to entertain that indulgent side of me. Either way, a birthday is a big celebration, and I always like to match my attire to the event! So, I chose skirts and heels for the weekend.. and let me tell you, you can’t help but be put in a celebratory mood when you’re dressed in a fancy skirt and heels!

On night one, of the weekend celebration, the hubby and I had roof top cocktails and enjoyed the sunset and LA skyline! Sometimes, it’s just nice to sit and reflect on the year, both success and challenges. We talked about goals for his upcoming year and how we can grow together as a couple. Of course, I started the celebration with a little glass of bubbly!

Day two was spent lounging at the rooftop pool! Sometimes there is nothing better than the pool, iced coffee (my new favorite indulgence), and relaxation. For night two we headed to BOA for a night of indulging and enjoying one another’s company… there was also a late night trip to Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles

I guess my point in all of this is that celebrating life is so important! We often get weighed down by the daily commitments and routines of life, but celebrating allows us to take a step back and be thankful for all we have! So kick up those rocking heels (don’t save those for a special occasion, wear them whenever), grab someone you love, and celebrate whatever you want!
