For being such a small little town, Carmel has so much to offer. From wine tasting rooms, beach activities, spas, and one spectacular golf course, the number of activities can fit the desires of anyone. This being our third time visiting the area, we decided to try something new. So, we opted for the scenic 17-mile drive and stopped by Pebble Beach for a delicious lunch and spectacular views. I enjoyed a mock-tail and amazing falafel panzanella, while TJ enjoyed their spicy pepperoni pizza. After lunch, we headed down to the edge of the course and took in more gorgeousness. Fun fact: Our morning workout included a morning walk on the beach below the course… where we found a golf-ball… must have been a bad round for someone…
Post-lunch, we headed back to the hotel. We’ve always stayed at L’Auberge and I can’t say enough positive things about it. The services is incredibly attentive, and when you stay there, you have the warmest and coziest of feelings. After a quick nap, we headed out for a little more meandering of the streets, taking in the gorgeous fall colors, quaint buildings, and textiles.
On all of our trips, TJ and I typically like to enjoy a little champagne while watching the sunset and chatting about life. Since champagne wasn’t necessarily in the cards this time, we opted for a bottle of Martinelli’s and some delicious appetizers. We headed down to the beach, where we enjoyed the gorgeous sunset colors and each other’s company.
It was such a relaxing trip, and we were reminded of how family friendly the area is. It’s definitely on our list of places to bring our little family once Harper arrives.
