While the past eight days have consisted of cut-offs, swimsuits, flip-flops, and a some kind of easy pullover…. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t slightly looking forward to wearing something similar to this outfit. A favorite pair of stretchy jeans (stretchy being the key word… I mean, loaded nachos necessitate that…. at least for the next week), a basic tee, oh-so-soft cardi… and now that the weather is supposed to be much cooler upon return, these blue suede booties….

I’m not entirely sure why, but this season I had my mind set on that color. Maybe it’s the deep jewel tone I was drawn to… or maybe simply because it was a color different than I already had in my closet…. either way, I knew they would be a staple in my everyday rotation… they’re comfortable, hide any sort of food fallen on them (by little miss, not me, promise….), and are the perfect height to give my short frame some elevation (while not feeling like I am going to topple over walking the streets)….
