Our little stay-cation over the weekend in Laguna Beach brought back so many fond summer high school memories. As I was laying there that night, with the doors open, I could hear the waves crashing on the shore, and I started to reminisce on the endless summer days and nights I spent with my girlfriends at the beach. Fourth of Julys riding beach cruisers around Balboa. Dinner dates at B.J.’s, followed by a ferry ride across the bay for a Balboa Bar. Bond fires with s’mores and laughter. There was even a ditch day (mom and dad already know about it… of course it wasn’t told to them until years later) with three of my best girlfriends down to Newport for lunch on the peer and some pre-summer tanning (and this wasn’t something I made a habit of, just to clarify… I was traditionally a rule follower… to a “T”). All this to say, those coastal beach towns hold some of my fondest memories.
As was the same in high school, so true was the same this past weekend. Figuring out what to wear was simply a priority. This time though, I didn’t need to call up my best girlfriend, or borrow from her closet. I knew just the number to take me to the sandy beach. This Chicwish embroidered top (luckily I’m a shortie and it fits as a tunic) was the perfect cover-up. With its airy material, and perfectly placed embroidery, I immediately felt “beachy” for our day in Laguna. I also plan on wearing this number as a tunic over jeans for those summer evenings that can become a bit breezy 🙂
