We ended July with a family beach night… take-out tacos in the trunk of our car, a beach swim, and then shakes from the iconic Shake Shack to close out the evening. It was a great way to close out the month, and now we’re officially in August. August. Before you know it we’ll be heading back to the soccer field on the weekends, Sundays will have football on TV, and we’ll be well into the swing of the school year…
But before then, and as always, with a new month, comes a new capsule (well, not always, since I didn’t do one for July…). I mixed things up a bit this month… I removed some heavier sweaters (it’s just not cold enough here in August to wear them… even at night… I tried last weekend…) and pants (ditto as the last statement), and added in a couple of easy, everyday dresses like this grey dress + black t-shirt dress (wore this so much in Europe), a linen skirt (a good alternative to pants if you don’t like shorts), and this eyelet top as a “dressier” summer top (that can easily be dressed up or down). Pieces I’ve found myself gravitating towards over the past month, so I know they will weave in nicely with items that were in June’s capsule…
If temps remain fairly mild during the summer months for you, I did keep in two pairs of jeans (this straight leg pair and this cream denim) that you can easily tap in for the denim shorts. So hopefully there is some versatility depending on where you live and the climate….
