Friday. No matter how short the week is, it’s still my absolute favorite day. A full weekend ahead of you, no need to set an alarm clock, take-out on the menu…. I could go on and on. I’d do a quick rundown of our weekend plans… but, you know, we’ll be hanging at home, in our backyard, doing much of the same….
I rounded up some of my favorite items from the month of April for today’s post. Everything from easy cover-ups to our go-to outdoor dinnerware. I also experimented with a few new hair products this month that I’m super excited to share with you!
I hope you all have a great weekend!
FASHION
BLACK L*SPACE COVERUP: This was a favorite item, in white, from last season. When I saw it went on sale this year I decided that the black one would be a super chic option for any summer travels (or, just hanging by the pool….). It can be worn open, buttoned, front knotted, or front tucked with shorts. It’s super lightweight and versatile, which is why it’s one of my go-to summer items.
REFORMATION NASHVILLE SHORTS: I love linen (despite the fact that it wrinkles) for summer. It’s lightweight and great for the warm summer weather. These shorts have a good high waist, elastic waistband, that looks super chic with anything fully tucked in. A favorite for this summer season.
LOU + GREY CROP TANK: This has easily entered heavy rotation because it’s not too cropped, just shorter in length (you can see it styled here). It’s breezy and a great lightweight material for summer. It comes in lots a great color options as well.
LOU + GREY LINEN PANTS: These are on of my go-to options when I want to feel pulled together, comfortable, but the thought of loungewear just doesn’t feel right. They have an elastic waistband, with a cute pocket, which makes them functional and stylish. The length is great, even if you’re short, and they can easily be worn with a tank or sweater depending on the weather.
MAUI CHAIN NECKLACE: I purchased this back in March to layer in with some of my other go-to necklaces and have worn it almost daily since. It’s a heavier weight, so it’s not flimsy, and it looks great when layered in with daintier pieces.
TOMMY JOHN JOGGERS + RIBBED TANK: My summertime lounging/pajamas…. they’re super soft for lounging, and cool enough for an entire evening’s sleep. Lots of beautiful color options as well. 30% off (today only) with code SHANNON30.
ALO AIRLIFT LEGGINGS: I bought my first pair of these last summer and loved the fit. They have a great high-waist, never fall down, and they really do “lift.” When I was in the market for a new pair of leggings last month, I decided to give these a try in the blue shade. I wear these for all workouts, but I do want to note that they do show sweat!
AE DISTRESSED PULLOVER: I purchased these with the matching shorts (which has since sold out) but it’s such a great lounge at home piece. It comes in several colors and can easily be worn with other items you already have in your closet…. would be super cute with cut-offs in the warmer months as well.
BEAUTY
dae DEEP CONDITIONING TREATMENT: I mentioned a few weeks ago that I was going to give this product a shot. At first I was hesitant and didn’t know if it would work. Yet, I was proven wrong. It left my hair feeling silky soft + nourished…. and the smell is amazing (I am very sensitive to scents). It’s considered “clean” and I highly recommend.
PLAYA ENDLESS SUMMER SPRAY: I’ve been feeling relatively lazy with my hair lately, so I started experimenting and letting it hair dry. I’ve been using this endless summer spray and have been very happy with it. It’s lightweight, so it doesn’t weigh my hair down, and works well with my natural texture.
BUMBLE + BUMBLE DON’T BLOW IT OUT: Another natural hair product. This one was recommended to my by one of you… and I’d have to say it works really well. I even use it on Harper’s curly hair. It seems to eliminate a lot of the frizz issues I have with my hair.
ILIA MASCARA: I had been on the hunt for a “clean” mascara for the past year and since I’ve been a huge fan of the Ilia line I opted to give it a try. I’ve been super happy with it… adds good length and volume and seems to hold all day long.
HOME
RAFFIA OUTDOOR PILLOWS: These are perfect for outdoors- made from weather appropriate material and add such an outdoor feeling to our patio furniture.
OUTDOOR DINING PLATES + CLEAR GLASSES + CHARGERS: We didn’t have an outdoor dining table last summer since half of our patio was being used to house construction tools (wasn’t pretty…). So this season, I was super excited at the prospect of being able to dine outdoors and entertain. I purchased these outdoor dining plates, glasses, and chargers since they’re toddler friendly but still beautiful. We’ve loved using them for all of our outdoor dining.
BLOW UP POOL: More for the kiddos (maybe….) but we love this! It’s aesthetically pleasing, has held up really well (even with a dog who seems to think it’s his as well…), and is just a great backyard water toy if you don’t have a bigger pool. Highly recommend.
RAINBOW TUMBLERS: We bought these for the girls… to use outside… and they both love them. They’re plastic, so they won’t break, and the straw has a cap on the bottom so it can’t come out of the tumbler when little hands pull on it!
OUTDOOR BELL PENDANT + ROUND PENDANT: Both of these were a new addition this season and they have added so much ambiance to our evenings/outdoor space… feels much more “resort” like (and, if we’re not going anywhere anytime soon that’s the vibe we’re looking for!). The round ones do require a more laborious electrical hookup (which TJ was able to figure out with a youtube video….) but they are much more “outdoor” appropriate than the bell shaped pendant. Both are wonderful, we will just have to find a covering for the bell shaped one come fall/winter (if your pergola is covered though then it’s not really an issue).
