The last two Easters have been memorable ones… for different reasons. Two Easters ago, I was going to be induced with Camille the following day, so knowing that it was our last day as a family of three made it one I will never forget. Then last Easter, well, it was a completely different situation (and to be honest, not the happiest day). I remember seeing my parents in a socially distanced setting… but having all of our meals solo…. and it was also dreary and wet relegating Easter Egg hunts to inside the house (which isn’t bad, just wasn’t expected)….
Needless to say, I’m looking forward to this Easter celebration. Very much. We’re hosting it at our house, and my grandma will be coming…. the first time she’s been back to our house in over a year… and to say I’m a little excited would be an understatement.
All that to say, I’ve been thinking about this for several weeks now… everything from the table-setting, to the menu, and small ways to make it a little extra special and I thought I’d share a few of my simple ideas here today…
________
NEUTRAL TABLE SETTING
(Linen Napkins | Linen Table-runner | Rattan Napkin Rings (I ended up ordering these) | Clay Vase | Eucalyptus Greenery (I’m going to go with real) | Waterfall Wine Glass | Personalized Name Card | Rattan Chargers (ended up ordering these) | Gold Flatware | Neutral Plates)
I’m crossing my fingers our outdoor patio space will be finished by the weekend (waiting for the pergola…) so we can dine outside, but wherever we’re eating, I’m planning on using the above items to create a really natural + neutral table setting.
I plan on filling vases with some wax flowers + white roses from our garden (so excited they’ve bloomed enough to cut) and find some live eucalyptus and possibly blue thistle…. but if you’re wanting something more statement making I love this floral garland I did for TJ’s birthday (how I did it here).
MENU
For this year’s Easter brunch menu, we’re going relatively traditional. Nothing too fancy, but I thought I would share here….
Ham
Quiche (this recipe looks so delicious)
Fresh Berries
Arugula Salad w/shaved parmesan + avocado (this is my favorite lemon vinaigrette to drizzle on top)
Banana Muffins (going with a gluten free/dairy free mix here)
A few bunny waffles for the girls
If you’re looking for an alternative adult beverage to mimosas, I love these rosé spritzers… they’re light + refreshing… perfect for a spring brunch… they can be served in a wine glass as well!
EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN
I decided on this white eyelet dress and these color-block dresses for the girls… and they’ve been living in these bunny pajamas.
I ended up ordering the girls these tassel seagrass baskets for the Easter Bunny… I figured they always play with the ones we have, so they’d love having their own….
For their baskets, I purchased these fairy wings (Harper has been begging to be a fairy), bubble sticks, and several books (Camille loves “Little Owl” + one of the books for Harper is “Little Dreamers“)… along with some yummy chocolates.
