TJ + I headed up to Malibu this past weekend to celebrate our 13th anniversary. It’s hard to believe that it’s been 13 years already… and those 13 years have brought so many wonderful memories and experiences, growth, life changing events (namely, kiddos), and so much more in the mundane occurrences of everyday life….

Several years ago, right after we had Camille, I stumbled across this excerpt from an essay on Motherly, and I have always felt it did such an amazing job of embodying how I view this stage of our marriage together and thought I would share it here as well:

“Dear Husband, it wont always be like this, we won’t always feel like we’re rushing, like we’re perpetually late, like we’re always playing catch up…. life will not always be this raising little kids level of chaos… one day we’ll have children who are grown. Who need us less….BUT right now we have all this beauty. All this wonder. All this joy…. We will miss this stage of our life together… So let’s laugh the frustrations off as best we can and sneak each other kisses… Let’s be in this. Together. Because before them, it was us. And after them, it’ll be us. One day they will go off to write their own stories, and I’ll be here, ready to write the next chapter with you.”
