Blush tones have always reminded me of some of my favorite things. Spring. Soft pink roses. Rosé champagne. Femininity. Love. My nana (whose all time favorite color was pink). There is something neutralizing about the color, which adds balance. Pair it with black and the outfit immediately softens. Pair it with siren red and you have a romantic look. Bring it home to your significant other in the form of a bouquet and champagne and maybe you’re out of the dog house (that’s for all those men out there, wink wink). So it’s only natural that when I found myself conducting “The Great Purge” of my closet Wednesday evening all blush tones stayed (I am already fearful that there will be items in one of the four large bags that I will inevitably regret giving away). Maybe that is when I realized its neutralizing effect. Or maybe I always knew, and that’s why I have so many pieces of the same color. Either way, it’s safe to say, the color will soon be overloading the “purged” closet (because as Allison so eloquently put it when I sent her a picture of the bags, “More room for all the new stuff!”).
