Leopard Beanie

leopard beanie, distressed denim

A surprising event occurred two weekends ago. I. Did. Not. Overpack. Yes, my family and friends read that right. Me! I actually didn’t back six pairs of jeans, five pairs of shoes, and seven tops for one relaxing night. I simply used a blank canvas of black and packed accordingly. When I brought out two travel bags (don’t let the word two deceive you, or make you think I cheated. They were gym bag size…) TJ looked at me and asked if there was anything else. It was a glorious moment for a gal who packed 65 pounds worth of clothing for a week and a half in Europe. AND, this past weekend when we headed up to wine country for an impromptu day, I shocked the family even more! I actually had the smallest bag. Am I turning a new leaf? Don’t hold your breath, I have two whole days in Napa at the end of this week. I’ll keep you posted 🙂

On another note, the whole blank canvas thing wasn’t too difficult. This summer I was a huge fan of using whites and neutral tones for my canvas. These past couple of weeks I’ve turned to the dark side, using various tones in the black, grey, and navy family. I’m loving adding subtle accessories to take the outfit from morning to day to night. I pulled out this leopard beanie for rooftop sunset cocktails, then changed the shoes and hat by adding nude pumps and a leather jacket for a dressy date night ensemble. Easy-peasy right??!
